Hi All

Following on from the tips and advice given to me on other threads regarding MultiECUScan software and cables, as some of you may know I bought a second hand Dell laptop from Ebay for just over £50, bought the cables from the links that many of your provided (thankyou) and now bought the paid version of the software I've successfully reset my Service Indicator and done a Proxy Alignment which has successfully got rid of the flashing mileage.

Wow, well pleased!!

I'm based 10 minutes from junction 4 of the M25, if anyone is willing to come over to me who has any ECU resetting needed, I'm happy to do it for you free of charge if you're willing to come over.

So whether it's that annoying Proxy Alignment or just switching off the seatbelt alarm, I'm your man!!

Only problem I encountered were a few of the menus gave error messages on connection. Other than that it's a job well done.

Thanks to everyone that gave me advice on this.

+1 from me too.

I can offer the same service, but no doubt coming down all the way to Cornwall is a bit OTT. Still, the offer is there, but I'm no expert at all so maybe we can learn together! :)

Mick.

A couple of error messages that I got. Didn't stop me connecting to the right modules to reset what I wanted though.

I have my Own fiat Ecu scan software on my laptop. I had flashing milage a year or so ago, but have not seen it since. I have seen many people talking about flashing milage on here, so it's only a matter of time before it comes back.

My question is what is the proxy alignment and how does that fix the flashing milage ??

I will plug my car in and have a look at whats on there when I get a chance. obviously whilst its not flashing I'm not going to start resetting stuff.

When you fixed your flashing mileage was there any other problems it fixed ? Blue&me not working for example?. . ..Assuming you had it..... I need help lol.

Do you have a "modified" interface? Many of the cheap ones have a design error that connects a 120 ohm resistor across the CAN bus pins. This causes errors on some modules. The modification is to remove the resistor. You can check for the modification by measuring between pins 6 and 14 (CAN bus) of the OBD connector with a multimeter set to ohms. If it reads about 120 ohms you have a unit with the design fault. The resistor can be removed yourself if you are OK with a soldering iron. The location of the resistor depends on the interface you have.

I can also help other members with my Multiecuscan setup. I'm located on the A14 just west of Cambridge.

My 2001 punto 1.2 has the base speedo display it's showing just over 90 k. I have a replacement instrument cluster tacho/temp gauge etc. When I swap them over the odometer flashes and also another red warning light. Can these be reset.
How far west of Cambridge are you.

Thanks

Yes, these should be able to be reset. depends on what the red light is.

I'm at Jct 29 of the A14 a couple of miles from the end of the M11.

I'll see if I can figure what the flashing red warning is about at the weekend. I've also currently got an issue with power steering not operating and warning light on. The steering wheel has been off centre for ages since I got the car. I realigned it by adjusting tracking at the wheels could this have caused the failure and the light to come on. Is this a recalibration job.

The flashing red light is the door open warning, might this be down to there being no switch fitted on the tailgate on my car.
Can the proxy alignment be sorted with the free version of multiscan.
Are you still up for doing a reset if I came to you at a convenient time.
John

Hi,
Door open will be missing switch if it has not been linked out. Why is it missing?

No you can't carry out proxi-alignment with the free version of MES

Yes I'm still happy to do a reset nd some diagnostics for you.

Don't know what car they have but I know a fair few Fiat's I have seen don't have switch's it's just done through the lock/latch mechanism
