My 500 has what looks like a stone chip on the leading edge of the Panoramic roof which has led to a long very fine crack turning into a scratch.
Only part of it can be seen from inside the car so it obviously hasn't got passed the "black" layer.
Has anyone ever repaired one of these roofs. I know I can pick up a second hand roof for a couple of hundred quid, but really don't want the expense of replacing it if I can help it.
Has anyone ever repaired one with resin which is apparently 3 times stronger than glass?
Or has anyone ever had one changed? What was the labour cost for that?
Will probably get one of the windscreen companies to come out and have a look but I can guess what they will say, they want the business.
Just checked my insurance, I do have windscreen/sunroof cover. It says it doesn't included panoramic windscreens, but it's not a windscreen, so hopefully, I will be covered although it's only to a value of £450 and I believe these glass roofs new are well over £1,000
