The change was for practical reasons, as I found the orange and red was not sufficiently contrasting for my needs. I chose a warm white, which is probably not the most popular 'custom' option, but it works for me.
Please note that when I said "you'll need 3253 SMD LEDs", I don't mean thousands of LEDs, I mean type-3253 (which denotes the LED size)... You will need seventeen of these type-3253 LEDs to achieve the effect I did
I also made a horrible error when I mentioned "SMD devices"... that's Surface Mount Device devices... but I seem to have run out of time to edit it now, and hopefully the grammar police (usually that's me) will let me off
Also I hope the attempted step-by-step tone of the guide isn't too patronising, and I'll be very interested in any opinions, either in this thread, or as comments on the guide
