General 500X... Orders & deliveries

Hi everyone!
I thought I created a new topic for all the 500X fans and future owners. I ordered mine end of February and it's a cross plus 1.6 120bhp diesel I'm Venezia blue. Delivery expected end of February.
You must be excited you put February do you mean end of March/April :D
Post the pics when she arrives.(y)

I test drove it at Hatfield House a week ago and it definitely felt like no other Fiat I had before... Sturdier and with lots of nice interior details

There was a stunning Red one in Rome on Friday. Getting loads of attention too.

Sorry guys i am not spending that much money on a Fiat = )
Even if its 'sturdier' you still have to deal with Fiat's legendary 'customer service' if something goes wrong with it!

Read a write-up on the 500X by testers in Italy, and they came across an original 500. The old Italian owner had driven it for 44 years, and didn't fancy changing it.
Wonder if your 500X will still be going reliably in 2059?

They had a 500x at Geneva this year...I didn't even turn my head to look at it while I was on the stand.
I did look at the Jeep version though, I think Jeep have got it right and Fiat are just clutching at straws but trying to emulate the success of the 500.

Having said that I am sure it is a good car.

Sweetsixteen,
What car of this segment will still be going reliably well in 44 years time?

Just had a very quick look on the websites. 500X starts at £17500, Renegade at £17000. No idea of how specs, engines etc compare without looking deeper.

I believe (at least as far as the 500X is concerned) that there'll be a cheaper trim level & cheaper engine options along later - namely the Pop trim, the 1.6 petrol & 1.3 diesel, so it's starting price will eventually be lower than the Jeep.

The Jeep also has other engines (2.0 170 diesel amongst them) & the Twin Clutch gearbox on the way, but since these are higher up the range, I doubt the Jeep price will start any lower than £16995.

Here in Denmark, the Renegade is about 10% more expensive than the 500X, at the same trim level, with a bit more extras on the 500X (such as bi-xenon on the Lounge, but not standard on any Renegade).
We have the 1.6 petrol on both the 500X and the Renegade and the Pop trim on the 500X (though I don't think they'll sell any of them, as the trim level is very bad).

The one I ordered came just short of £23k ( cross plus 1.6 diesel 120 bhp)

Little update... An absolute nightmare!! Ordered my car end of February, estimated delivery end of April and now I have been told maybe end of June?!?!? Reading from some Italian sites, there's problems with some of the electronics parts in certain models and few cars have been stopped at dealers for software updates.
I contacted Fiat two weeks ago and they are just scrambling... I haven't had a proper update even after complaining! They keep saying that they are looking into my case but no news yet!
So frustrating!!!

Sorry to hear your frustrations ,when the 500 was launched back in 2007 people on here waited 3-4 months on average but that was when it was really in demand at the time ,some waited longer  you would of thought as they delayed the launch of the 500 x things would be more in place as demand is not like of the 500 ilk, but looks like it is not ..but having said that i would rather they ironed out any electrical/software issues now before i receive one ,than say in a month something goes wrong and Fiat recalls them ,but good luck with yours.(y)

The 500X configurator is rubbish, even by Fiat standards. It's impossible to select for 4x4 - you have to search them out by trial and error! It doesn't even mention 4x4 in the detailed spec for each interation - you have to choose a trim, engine, etc, go through the configuration process and then click on Configuration Summary, where it deigns to tell you, in very small print, whether you've succeeded in selecting a 4WD or not! If I hadn't already read somewhere that the 4x4 capability is only available on the so-called "Off Road Look" (yes, really!) Cross 2.0 diesel auto, I'd have given up and assumed they were only available in 2WD. Come on Fiat, sort it out you muppets.
