I thought I'd send out my regards to everyone. I have been having a look on here for the past few days now as I've just bought my first ever 500.
I picked the little monster truck up today and am very excited to get her on the road.
I'm really enjoying looking through all your posts and advice, very helpful. :slayer:

Hey, thanks. Ive only had it a day and I love it. Just hope my start stop kicks in as im yet to see it work

As for the stop start, mines a little bit temprimental. Will work one time, but not the next. There must be certain conditions it does/doesn't work in.

If I stall the car the start stop comes on then cuts off. Thats the only time it comes on. The ESP doesnt seem to work either. Other than that she's a fantastic we motor! I always bought ford fiesta's and I thought id made a bad choice but so far it's a good change!

Is your car new or used? - You didn't mention.

If the Start/Stop continues to play up you may have a less-than-perfect battery, and battery performance is critical for proper operation. My car's S/S didn't work properly from new for the first 12 months and I assumed it just wasn't a reliable feature and wrote it off. However, after reading posts on the subject here on the forum I tackled the dealer and got the battery changed. It's worked properly ever since.

My car was sitting around for some 10 months between manufacture and purchase and it seems this adversely affected the battery - not enough to affect starting and normal function but enough to play havoc with S/S.

If you find the S/S doesn't stop the engine after you've been driving for a while, or stops it and restarts after a few seconds, this may be the problem. You'll find a lot of discussion of it here.

Hi, I have phoned my garage and I have to book her in to be checked. I advised I think its the battery as per all the research I've done.

As for the esp it doesn't kick in when I'm on a hill. I had a vehicle that had esp so I know how it works but the 500 doesn't seem to click on. I have tried the settings to see if it's switched on but I don't seem to be able to find anything in regards to it.

Esp isn't hill hold, is that what you are expecting? It only comes in to effect when cornering and losing control for example but no light flashes to tell you, it just happens.
