I must admit I wish I got the convertible too! The boot does limit it's function but really there has been nothing I couldn't fit in the convertible that I have in the hatch.

I live and hate the dual logic. It's great not to worry bout clutch but since having it I totally could have lived with a manual. It's costing more in servicing because of this than expected - however it is in no way expensive if that makes sense!

As others have said they do love the car as you live with it. That's why most choose the 500 over other options. It's charm, and character. I hate cars without personality and won't own one again. ;)

Curious, what do they do when they service the Dualogic? I've always understood it to be a sealed unit so unless it breaks down or it's a very old car, it shouldn't have to be treated any differently to a manual transmission car?

Well every 30000 you need to replace the fluid. There's no adjustment to it so they do say it is how it is.

I am not sure on longevity because I am not the one dropping the clutch so to speak, but I do like having the paddles for driving through winding roads in the hills.

I wish now because of the way I drive it (mostly in manual mode) that I had the 6 speed manual.

Agreed, that's why I broke the habit of a lifetime of Mazda's and bought the 500C. I love the fact that these cars are pretty much unique.

My TA's a 5/speed manual and the partner's 1200 is a DL (no paddles of course) so I've had regular experience of both and, while I won't say I hate the DL, I really don't like it very much. The paddles might have made a difference but I'm not convinced. I'd like to try a TA in DL form just to compare.

The lack of room, or rather lack of easy access to what room there is, in the convertibles has made itself felt a few times but I can live with that for the sheer joy of open-top motoring.
