Could be introduced late next year.

Our spies have managed to snap the first photos of the facelifted Fiat 500.

Caught in Italy, the prototypes feature camouflaged bumpers and covered lighting units.
This likely means the updated model will have a new front fascia, restyled headlights and a modified rear bumper.

Interior changes will likely be minor but could include updated upholstery and improved infotainment systems.

Engine options should carryover, so expect to see a variety of familiar petrol and diesel units.

Nothing is official but the facelifted 500 could be introduced at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show before going on sale late next year.

As previewed some days ago we are going to show you the Fiat 500 restyling, finally on the road.
Not only the exteriors: in fact we are able to show you the first ever picture of the new interiors, with the U-Connect multimedia system.
The engine choice will be various: 1.2 69CV, 0.9 65CV, 0.9 105CV and 1.3 MultiJet diesel are confirmed.
The 0.9 85CV is also very probable.

Spotted in Turin.

The 2016 Fiat 500 facelift has been spied once again, this time undergoing testing in Turin, northern Italy.

The Fiat 500 along with the MINI are one of the very few cars on sale today for which developing a facelift is a delicate matter taking into account the designers mustn't ruin the classic recipe.
Case in point, the upcoming mid-life cycle refresh for Fiat's cute city car will retain most of the design as only the front and rear bumpers will undergo a cosmetic surgery while the headlights & taillights will likely come with slightly updated graphics.
Moreover, the fog lights appear to be slightly larger and they have a thicker chrome surround.

Photos of the interior cabin are not available at this point but a few minor updates are likely in the works, such as new upholstery choices, revised trims and other minor bits and pieces.
The engine lineup will probably be carried over without any changes.

Chances are the facelifted Fiat 500 will be introduced in September at the Frankfurt Motor Show but an only reveal could occur earlier, possibly in August.

This is me speculating but I'd guess this facelift will be around for 2/3 years depending on when it is released. This matches up to 10 years of this generation 500. In the last 6 months there will be a "Finalè" limited edition (this face lifted car with loads of optional extras included) and then finally the next generation 500 after that.

So... meet the new 500, same as the old 500? :D

Hope they at least sorted out the door handles, boot cabling etc.

I see a glovebox lid : )
Looks like Abarth style steering wheel on the Sweden pics.
I think they got the retro styling so 'right' on the current one it'd be hard to change without mucking it up.
I'd love to see a more 'faithful' Abarth with a tuned TA105 and some wheels that really pay homage to the original.
Thats what I have in mind when making mods to my TA. It's more like the original Abarth than the Fiats version ; )

JR - it's a pain wading through multiple picture posts to follow this thread. Any chance you could "give it a tidy" so the very useful essence of the post is maintained?

No I think fiat is too cheap to invest in better chassis or drivetrain issues (gearbox dualogic etc). They just added some leds changed the bumpers and put the 500 l interior in
