I hope that's the US-only version. Would fit with how the current US version is styled with the different bumper etc. This in Europe just looks more like any other city car; the 500's 'moustache' shaped nose was one of its defining features which has been completely removed on this 'leak'. Based on this photo alone, I'll be looking at the outgoing model as a replacement for ours, no matter how good the 'UConnect' system is.

My question is, if it's just a facelift to the lights and bumpers why do Fiat feel the need to do such extensive road testing, is it just to get some magazine/Internet coverage? Perhaps there are some changes to running gear which need testing.
It is a facelift to the lights, bumpers and interior.
There could also be a new base engine in the works.
Fiat is developing a new Global Small Engine (GSE-series) with 3 and 4 cylinders.
The 3 cylinder 12v engine will have ± 80 hp and the 4 cylinder 8v engine about 100 hp.
The 3 cylinder engine could come to Europe as a new base engine to replace the "non" turbo TA and old 1.2ltr FIRE engine.
The 4 cylinder 8v would be more suited for the rest of the world i reckon.
But on the other-hand they could test a upgraded 1.2ltr 8v FIRE engine.

btw: here some proof of the engine bloks.

I suspected something along those lines, I wouldn't expect Fiat to go to all the trouble of climate testing a new set of bumpers!

I read somewhere a while back that Fiat want to align the US and rest of the world 500's for production reasons, so maybe we will be getting the better crash reinforcements, better sound proofing, increased equipment(they get cruise control, heated seats etc) and maybe the multiair engines as well as a nip and tuck to the styling and suspension (as well as the long overdue U Connect, which by the way is meant to be one of the best in the industry).

Panic over, they haven't ruined it folks, looks like a lot more buttons on that steering wheel, cruise control perhaps???

It's the same steering wheel and alloy wheel design as on the 500X :)

It looks feasible, and it looks good, but there's been no word from Fiat themselves and they've just re-aligned trim levels in the UK (updated equipment levels on Lounge and Cult & a new PopStar trim to replace Colour Therapy) so I reckon any facelift won't be here till the end of the year at least.

That's my prediction anyway!

Controlled leaks lol.

Eeeeek just noticed with those new rear lights, white could go from the most popular colour to the least popular. Looks dreadful, whereas the red and also black looks good with them.

i quite like it, although i do think it looks a little vit like a Vauxhall Adam

i'd imagine those light would be quite popular to modify with itallian flags, carbon fibre, checkered flag and different colours

now im curious to see what the Abarth version will look like

The new tail lights should slightly improve aerodynamics ;)
