General Fiat 500 restyle 2015.

I've just seen my first face lifted 500 on the road. I saw a white one on a transporter and it looked okay but the one I just saw was a pale mint green colour and the body colour section in the middle of the rear light just looked wrong!

I saw my first one on the road last week. Looked quite classy to me in metallic grey. Not so sure about those rear lights, though.
Some people on the forum have got quite worked up about the facelift, but now I've seen one I don't know what all the fuss was about - pretty restrained in my eyes, compared with the bug-eyed abomination that the Mini has become.
Mind you, given the premium price Fiat charge, it's a shame they didn't improve the interior plastics, etc.

Also saw my first one on the roads today; followed a 65 plate 500C in Mint Green.

My observations were as follows:

1. The new rear light clusters are actually OK in my opinion, although a bit odd with the middle bit of the cluster being whatever the colour of the car is. I liked the shape and definition of the lights though.

2. The rear lights appear to be the same bars featured in the Punto Evo and current Punto, albeit not the same shape.

3. I followed this car for a long old while, and weirdly the top brake light in the roof came on a fraction quicker than the main brake lights. I thought my mind was playing tricks, but no, it definitely did. Not sure if that is a fault with the car or not, but never seen that before.

4. The reverse light is now down at the bottom where the old Lounge spec had chrome trim. Very similar in location to the Punto, but not quite the same size.

5. Exhaust - definitely a new exhaust style, not the old school backbox from the 2003 Panda with the miniscule tail pipe tip:eek:

Any car with an LED third light and regular lower level brake lights will do that. The C always had LED's in the roof light.

A couple of observations I've noticed about the facelift are the DRL "ring" also seems to have some sort of bulb on inside the lamp for the DRL. Hard to explain but when the headlights are turned on the LED ring doesn't change. It doesn't get any dimmer. It's as if a bulb inside the unit is turned off.
The other thing I've noticed is of all the things they could have improved they didn't change the useless indicator stalks! :bang::bang::bang::bang:

Following on from my post above, I saw a restyled white Pop yesterday.

Just not sure what to make of the new 500. My wife is adamant she won't be getting a new one as she thinks it looks horrible!:yuck:

To me, it just seems like a lot of changes for the sake of it.

I've seen a few around and think they're ok bearing in mind their intended target audience! I dident like the steering wheel though which looks cheap and also the seat fabrics look like they were inspired by the Bay City Rollers! Externally it's ok though but I just dont think they've enough to make it stand out bearing in mind it'll probably be unchanged for a good 2 years. Looking forward to seeing the S whenever it arrives.

Lol, well out of all those hundreds and thousands of improvements, that wasn't one then!

I noticed someone asked the other day on Fiat's Facebook page whether the new ones had improved door handles or not. There was no response:cool::)

I like the better sat-nav radio- I don't mind the exterior restyle- I don't think it's better but I don't think it's worse... I think the rear looks better... In the Lounge- there is, in my opinion, too much chrome on the front- I like the lower grille and the surround, I like the 'moustache' strip around the bonnet FIAT badge... But I actively HATE the extra, untidy and unnecessary piece of chrome set into the little vent that's between the two! I'm not getting my next 500 till 2017 (get new car every 2 years!) but I've already confirmed that my dealer will rip that off and replace the chrome 'dart' with a mat black one off a Pop model! Not that I'm OCD or anything!!

I ordered my New 'shape', Twin Air, Lounge, in red a couple of weeks ago and I'm picking it up on March 1st 2016 plate.

Ill be sad to see my 2012 twin air lounge go, but I was made an offer by Desira in Norwich I couldn't really refuse. including £2,500 towards my deposit and more for my car that I paid in April when I bought her last year.

:)

Must be in need of some used stock then!

May I ask, does your new 500 come standard with climate control like the previous TwinAir lounges did?

From what I saw on the car configurator it does not come in climate control! Good riddance! One less thing to go wrong on my Fiat because boy if those climate control things break, do you have to pay!

No just manual aircon and no eco button, but they have added a few other things as standard that aren't on my 1012 such as hill hold, parking sensors, the u connect infotainment system.
I've never had a problem with blue & me tbh, I have an iPhone and I just use an aux lead, in conjunction with the usb to charge and I can stream anything from my phone.
Ill let you know more when I pick it up on Tuesday.
