Would look cool if you had just the rear 3 done.

Not worth doing the fronts - regs only allow a very mild tint, so best left as is.

Indeed so; the windscreen & front side windows are already tinted to within a hair's breadth of the maximum permitted by law.

I recall a professional window tinting company saying they'd done a test and placing a single layer of clear clingfilm over the front side windows on the 500 is sufficient to push them over the legal limit.

What you do in the back is up to you, so to speak. All down to personal taste, so if it appeals - go for it.

Don't be tempted to do the front side windows. Not only is it an offence to do so, it also makes it dangerous at night.

If you got stopped by traffic police they would not only fine you but make you peel it off too, at the road side.
yes i was in a friends car once who had 'mafia tinting' on all windows in the car, and i could barely see out of the car at night!

So I'm only legally allowed to do the back window and 2 side windows?

Yep, front window tinting has been illegal for a long while, you're allowed a very very very mild tint on the fronts but if you look at a film that's legal for front windows it essentially looks clear.

But getting them done will still look good, it helps with heat buildup in the car during the summer months, stops cars from behind blinding you on dark roads, the issue I found was not wanting to go too dark but at the same time not having so light I might as well have not bothered, I did my own with a kit off eBay and got very good results with some practice and spent about £20 in total on film and tools and another £2-3 on other bits like soap talc etc

Those laws sucks. In Australia we can have 35% tint on all windows but the front windscreen cannot be touched.

Personally, I think tinting the rear windows and leaving the fronts looks awful.

Rear windows tinted, front window left as standard and tinted wind deflectors fitted

Not a 500 but that combo would look amazing on a fiat 500

The majority of new cars come with an element of tinted rear windows these days.

I think the factory tinted rear and back windows on my black 1.4 Sport improve the look of the car - give it a sort of 'stealth' look. Don't think tinted windows would look so good in certain colours though (e.g. volare blue).

In Australia we need it MILA...we are looking to get Bella done.

Disagree on the Volara Blue, the colour of our car, we are just about to get ours done. When we ordered our car tints were standard on our model and we saw a Sky Blue car with the windows tinted and it looked great.

Surely that doesn't mean you can just go put a 35% tint onto the stock front windows; - the 500 side windows are already tinted out of the factory and 35% likely only gives you another 5-10% max of additional tinting.

Max legal side window tint in the UK is 30% & on the 500, it's said that even a single sheet of clear clingfilm is enough to take it over the limit.

You don't NEED it. In all my 23 years of life in Australia neither me nor my family ever owned a car with tinted windows. There's a massive industry in Australia devoted to making people think that they NEED their windows tinted. Yeah your seatbelt bucked get a bit hot at the height of summer, meh.
