Please can anyone advise me if you can fit a rear facing child seat (not the first 0-9months type) in back of a 500? Is there enough room. Don't mind if the passenger seat is all the way forward.
Thanks.

A rear facing one is the 0-9 months one so I am a tad confused by question but if you mean a baby seats then yes you can but very hard to get in and out of the door from the back. There isn't much room when push seat forward to ease it out. When my son was young enough for a rear facing seat it would have driven me nuts. I didn't buy the 500 until son was in a standard high back booster seat with adult belt. I would have struggled to do up a forward facing baby seat let alone rear facing whether a 'baby' 0-9 month one or the 9 month to approx 4 year front facing seat. My son went into high backed booster at 2.5 years old so was lucky it was timed right!

On the plus side a maclaren stroller fits perfectly in the boot without having to dismantle.

From personal experience I wouldn't buy a 3 door 500 until children were 2.5 and older and no longer need a specialised baby car seat or huge pram.

Thanks Heidi.
We'll after our grandson a couple of days a week and our daughter asked us to use rear facing seat only. They are safer.
There are rear facing seats available for after 9 months.
We've just sourced one that it says fits the 500. It's made by Joie.
Thanks.
Ian.

Things must have moved on in seven years since I bought a 9 month plus car seat! We are 2cm away from ditching the booster seat so come out the other side!

Hope it fits okay and not too hard to manoeuvre child in and out. Think hardest will be doing it up with rear facing upright seat in such a small space. 'Twas hard enough in forward facing child seat in a ford cmax....

Try to find a very small car seat, for kids between 0-19 kg.

We ended up with a Joie, rear facing as well as front, car seat as my daughter insists on a rear facing seat in the back for safety reasons - she's right, they are safer for under 2.5 years.
It just about fits but the passenger seat has to be pushed all the way forward and wound very upright.
