As you may know I have a 500s on order. When I ordered the car I was told it came with parking sensors and front fogs which I was very pleased about. However after a while I noticed a lot of 500s fiats didn't have front fogs or parking sensors. So I did a little research and couldn't see anywhere on the specs that they were standard. So when I was at the garage the other day I asked the lad if he could check. He then told me that is doesn't have parking sensors but does have front fogs. Which is no issue for myself. I think front fogs make a car look so much better. Anyway yesterday I saw loads of 500s none with front fogs. So I checked the latest spec and only ones that come with front fogs is the 500c which I think the guy has been reading. So I am very annoyed about it and I really want the fogs. What you think I should do?

I guess they can be added as an option?

If so I'd go back and tell them that you feel like you have been miss led (in a pleasant way). They should get them fitted at no cost to you. If they won't threaten to walk away.

You'd be amazed at what you can get. I got upgrade alloys and the interior swapped from blue to red on a car they had in stock though.

well it is all sorted now after a lot of phone calls. They wanted me to take the car but for a little bit cheaper a month which i wasn't prepared to do. It's a brand new car so why shouldn't it be how i want! So now I have to wait for a new car to be made but this time it will be a 500s twinair+, with front fogs in electroclash grey. I got them to upgrade the engine and not have to pay for the front fogs as a sweetener.

So are you getting it for the original price you were quoted? If not, I would tell them to stuff it. Plenty of other dealers out there.

its costing me £5 a month more than the original deal, which was -

500S 0.9 twinair 85bhp
elctroclash grey

now I am getting

500S twinair 105bhp
front fogs
Electroclash grey

So I think I have got a really good deal as the deal I had previously was very good :)

Not sure I understand the extra £5.00 per month. I tend to deal in overall cash cost of the car, not monthly payments (smoke and mirrors). However, as long as you are happy.

its a pcp plan so thats why i know it through monthly payments. Basically I have got £640 worth of options/engine spec for £240 through their error along with the money i got off on the previous deal. I am very happy thanks!!!!!

Okay. I now understand. PCP plans are something I have never considered, so not familiar with their workings. I would rather buy it, then sell it. PCP plans seem to have become popular. Did you make any comparisons with a traditional purchase?

the reason why I went for PCP was for the payments being lower than finance for the car, yes I wont own the car but I would have got rid of it with 3 to 4 years. If i was going to keep the car I would have tried to purchase it fully

Glad you got sorted. When I ordered my 500 nearly 4 years ago, I used the configurator on the Fiat website to spec the car as I wanted it, then took a printout to the garage. The salesman attached it to the order form as "belt and braces", and everything was fine. Perhaps a good tip for anyone else lucky enough to be ordering a new car - all manufacturers now have configurators.

Yeah apart from the wait I am now better off. Yeah I should have done that but I wasn't expecting to ordering the car that day. I fell in love. Yeah that's good advice. Also look at the spec book when you are ordering so know exactly what is on that model. I thought it was a case of getting rid of stock and adding extras to shift them
