The girlfriends heater on her 500 is playing silly buggers, when turning the heater on to hot it blasts out cold air and to fix this you have to perform the reset by holding the two buttons together till the numbers turn to zero, but this doesn't always work and continues to blast out cold air, i have found that if the reset doesn't work you turn the temperature down to low and it will then start to blast out hot air.

does anyone have any experience on this issue as i'd like to get it fixed for her instead of it being backwards.

yes has climate control, and why do you say its a dealer job surely not that hard to replace.

Two things I would suggest you try.

1. Disconnect the battery for a few hours hopefully this may reset the climate control computer.

2. This is the interior cabin temperature sensor, a little fan draws in air through these holes and over a sensor, so the climate control knows how warm it is in the car

My advice would be to get a Hoover and attack it vigorously, if it's blocked or getting unexpected readings it could confuse the system, such as if the holes are blocked a little pocket of warm air could be trapped and cause the blowers to switch to cold.

It also doesn't have to go to fiat you can diagnose faults with the full registered copy of MultiECUScan but that's £50+ a cable (~£15)

So try those things first otherwise it might be easier to get a dealer to check it out

Can someone tell me what buttons do I have to press to reset the climate?

According to the MES website and supported vehicles list, MES will read the codes for the climate control, but not make adjustments.
Looks like a dealer job to reset the modules.

Might be an idea to read the codes first, see if it will tell you why the modules have become out of sync.

First, though, do the vacuum trick with the little vent. Sorted mine a few years back, still working more reliably than the 9 month old Fiesta.

If you're willing to travel to 10 minutes from junction 4 of the M25, I can hook you up to reset the modules free of charge

Thanks, but I'm Portuguese living in Portugal :)
I will try to do the reset in a bosh car service. Later I'll post the results.

Problem solved. The main gear was broken, just changed it.
Thanks a lot.

In Portugal almost every auto-mechanic have one diagnose pc to check and program our cars. It was really cheap the reset the flaps.
Thanks for the help
