Well I haven't posted in a while and I thought I should get back on the scene!

I have a 2011 1.2 Blackjack 500 and it's a great little car!

Recently i've been seeing a lot of threads on 'light modifications' and I thought I should get in on the action. I've had the car for a year now and I have done a few little things to make it my own.

I've installed a 300W Subwoofer in the boot, which is a slimline model from In-Phase, it's a great piece of kit and can be installed under the seat or in the boot. I have seen a few people requesting to see if anyone installed a sub and I think this was essential for me as I love my music. All in and fitted I paid £200.

(In Phase USW10 300 Watt Underseat Active Subwoofer including Remote Bass Controller/Wiring Kit: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics)

I've installed performance air filters etc to keep the car ticking over nicely and hopefully should be getting the rear lights lightly smoked to finish off the stealthy look.

I've been thinking about a HID Kit for the H7 dipped lights anyone done this yet? and also has anyone lowered their 500? I think the back could be stances slightly better to give it a stealthy look!

PHOTO'S WILL FOLLOW!

Any feedback on these topics would be great especially anyone who has HID's or has lowered their car!

Best Regards

Please don't smoke the lights, it's probably the silliest "mod" you can do to your car.

Also, HID's are illegal and shouldn't pass an MOT unless a self levelling system is fitted, headlamp washers and projector lamps.

Well would't really call it a mod but rather an aesthetically pleasing change:p

I'm not going to do the old 'blackout' job but only a light film, personal preference.

HID's are illegal, yes; but I can't seem to find any OEM units for xenons headlights about.

I didn't mention but I've got a full stainless steel cat-back exhaust system installed, which was fabricated at R-Tec in St Albans, Hertfordshire.

Having some trouble uploading the pictures....

So HID's are illegal but you're going to do it anyway by the sounds of it?

Three seconds on eBay

That said they are a lot more expensive than those dodgy Chinese hid kits which may damage the wiring in your car or the headlight as well and blinding everyone else on the road and causing your car to fail an MOT or get you pulled by the rozzers

The genuine lights will also need washers and auto levellers installed to be legal

those are from Germany so they are going to be for a LHD car and no good here.

I could be wrong but I think there is a switch to go from LHD to RHD on the factory HID's so the LHD ones could be OK possibly.....

as the beam pattern on xenon head lights is managed with a shaped filter rather than the shape of the lens or the design of a reflector, it probably is as easy as you suggest to swap them from left to right

No way to switch from LHD to RHD
