Hi

I don't want to teach anyone to suck eggs and forgive me if this has been broached before.

My wife's 500 Lounge has the tilt memory on the drivers seat and a couple of weeks ago it stopped working. I got my head under and took a few photo's which I sent off to a friend in Iveco aftersales who in turn sent it to his oppo in Fiat aftersales to get an opinion on third year warranty claim. He told me to try and that they may do it but they have no goodwill budget so it would be up to the dealer.

I took it in for the recall and low and behold they wouldn't do it so as I have been in the motor trade for 40 years I dusted off my roll cab and took the seat out as far as I could without disconnecting the pre tensioners.

I found that there are 2 lugs that operate the seat tilt and runner in particular, they are pointed out in the images. One faces the near side seat and one the opposite way. The should have plastic push on cover that snap over the end of the pins. I found the 2 halves of the inner ones and the other half of the outer one was still hanging on in there but half is missing. The important part is the inner one. I cleaned it up and super glued the two halves together then for extra strength heat welded down the cracks with a soldering iron. It's still there after 3 weeks and works a treat. Should they have been missing I would of had to knock something up in the man lab to fit over the lugs.

Hope this helps anyone with the same problem.

Regards
