That's great news, Ellie.

Glad you've found a lovely 500 & put all the problems of the last one behind you (y).

I'm sure lots of folks will have learned much from your unfortunate experience, and will be a little wiser as a result.

Thank you also for keeping us all informed and letting us know the outcome - it is much appreciated.

Wishing you the very best of luck with your new car. It's arrived just in time for you to make the most of the good weather we're having.

Would it be possible for you to post the registration of the "not written off but written off" 500 so anyone looking to buy it would find this thread if they googled the plate?

:) Hopefully the garage put it back to its original road-worthy state before the accident!!!

Sadly, I doubt it. My guess is they'll repair what is broken, new engine mount, and sell it on again.
Yes, sold on again... I saw it on their website for sale but now it's not on there anymore, guess it has been sold.

The forum doesn't appear to come up when you search the registration though :(.

I hope the car has been fully repaired, if not my details are on the log book so who knows, they may contact me as I only had it 6 months...

Welcome back, Ellie.

Hope you're enjoying your new car.

Thanks for updating us on the old one. Hopefully it's not been bought by anyone here, but you never know... it just might turn up again with more issues (n).

Shows vehicle had tax renewed from October 2014 for another year. MOT to February 2015. So no new MOT before it was sold on by the looks of it.
Hmmmmmm well I'm doubtful they would have fixed all the problems with it that came to light after the engine fell out, who knows! * Just checked and the forum now comes up when you search the registration!!!*

I am loving my new car thank you..... feels SO different compared to the other one and the new dash screen thing is SO cool!!

:hm:
Holy thread revival!

If you'd taken the time to read the thread, the whole point is that a car check report would not have shown anything unusual and wouldn't have protected the buyer from what subsequently happened.

A vehicle history check won't help you spot a seriously damaged repaired car that hasn't ever been written off. Only a physical inspection can pick up this sort of thing.

You joined just to post this . Makes me think you're trying to advertise the services of a car check company.

Apologies if I'm wrong - in which case, welcome to the forum - but if you post again to promote a web check company, you'll be out of here.
