Hi all,

I've has my fiat for around 6 months now but getting a little frustrated with always needing CD's in my car to listen to music.

I have the standard radio however I have seen some 500's have got a touch screen monitor with AUX output to connect your phone to.

Is this something is able to be fitted into my car?

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

This isn't a factory feature, so yes you can have whatever you like fitted.

FYI - this is located down near the cup holders... Can use USB or the aux input. (Slide the "Blue & Me" cover to the side)

I don't have any of these, seems my car is very basic for a 2010!!

Pop models don't have Blue&Me, and it can't cost effectively be retrofitted, either.

IIRC the head unit can play mp3 files from the CD, so one almost free option for the OP (and anyone else with a Pop) is to use a PC to record a nice selection of music onto a CD in .mp3 format. If you encode it at around 160 kb/s (a reasonable compromise for in-car audio on the 500 standard stereo), you should be able to get around 9-10 hrs music, or about 200 tracks, on a CD.

Can't you connect a flying lead in to the back of the head unit aux input without too much difficulty or have I got that wrong?

IIRC some of the factory fit Blaupunkt units fitted to the base models have the aux input function disabled, or even no aux input on the backplate, but likewise I could have got that wrong too.
