New car, had it a week. Issue pulling away from stationary at junctions etc. car moves a bit, pauses then drives off sometimes with a rev as if I've put too much gas on. Pulling away isn't smooth and feels jerky. Never happened in any other car I've had or my last 500. Is it me driving badly or possibly the clutch/car? Thanks Susan

Hi

This happens in my new Panda 1.2. I've never had it before from any other Fiat and it is really pants to say the least.

It recent;y had a recall for a new ECU and that seemed to help a lot. Personally it feels like a faulty Throttle Position Sensor. No matter where my foot is in relation to the throttle the car behaves strangely, revving away like a bloody learner.

I'd take it back to Fiat and let them have a look. This will ruin the driving experience.

Same problem with our 500s.Its been back to dealer twice and they cant find a problem. There seems to be an issue with these cars with the current 1.2 engine.
I have also contacted Fiat.Hope they come up with a fix.In the meantime we have got used to driving it.

Hi
We have exactly the same problem with our new 1.2. I didn't see this post earlier, so created a new post just now. As I've only posted once before I can' paste the link (until I have made 5 posts according to the Forum rules), my post is titled "500 Euro 6 problems"

I believe Fiat have a problem and don't want to acknowledge it.

I'm sorry but I think you're barking up the wrong tree here

According to Wikipedia there is no difference for petrol cars between Euro V and Euro VI.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/European_emission_standards#Emission_standards_for_passenger_cars

So Fiat won't have made changes because of different emissions standards.

Well I beg to differ. I have spoken directly to Fiat who claims there are mods to the vehicle. I also have a relative who is a DET at Fiat and has confirmed that Fiat have fitted a two stage potentiometer to reduce emissions when pulling away.

I didn't say there haven't been changes, what i'm saying is that it's not because of Euro VI emissions as there is no need to make any changes for that........

I just replied to Alfie's thread - we've had the same issue on a new (Feb '14) 1.2 Lounge. Took 3 weeks but a new ECU along with something else (daughter can't remember what the service dept said!) seems to have fixed it.

We have a 14 plate 1.2 pop (it's my wife's) whenever I drive it I have the same problem. I'm stationary at a junction or whatever, get the bite on the clutch. Revs remain constant, ease the clutch up, revs drop considerably, I keep my foot in the same position on the throttle, revs go up and it over revs sounding like I have no idea how to balance a clutch/throttle pedal...it drives me mad but after a couple of journeys I "manage" it. My wife seems to have "driven"around the problem.

I seem to think that it's related to something that it does upon starting back up from being stationary whilst in stop start mode...again, it starts up upon pressing the clutch, revs are slow to respond and you end up having a very slow get away

Other than a faulty dashboard being replaced....we've had no other issues and we love her ( her names Lola)

New improved pics to come :)
