Afternoon all,

I have tried a search on this, but to no avail (although i am sure it has already been discussed somewhere!)

I have a 2012 TA (i think it is a pop model)

It was purchased due to being so young, ridiculously low mileage, great condition etc etc and within budget (most importantly)

I was aware at the time that it did not have Blue & me or USB port etc. The dealership put in a stunning parrott kit which i love for music and call streaming.

I would, if possible, really like to look into getting a USB port installed (for charging phone mainly)

I know the simple answer would be get a usb adaptor for the cigarette lighter. I have gone through 4 of these. All seem to be 'bouncy' in the charging unit though and a slight movement in the car (turning corners etc) makes them 'jump out of place'

Now i am aware it may be pricey! (don't want Blue and Me - just the USB port) or just not a possibility to install - but thought no harm in asking the people who would know the options. (or a solid USB charger that won'e jump out!)

Thanks.

Thanks. May be the best option - although (me being the complete non tec specialist that i am!) I have just gone to clean the inside of the car and have - as fate would have it - found the hidden compartment on the upside of the glove box / gap!

It has: UBS / IPHONE and 3.5mm Aux Jack.

Are these redundant unless B*M installed? Have read something similar!

I don't think it charges unfortunately, should just play music, though I wonder if it needs the iphone adaptor if it will work with an iphone sat all. Hmmmm

In all my stupidity.... the cables which i found were part of the Parrot kit which was installed!

Can get playback through ipod fine. not through USB.... and it will charge when phone changed to mass storage device

12v charger it is!

If I may make a suggestion, look for a plug shaped like the one on the right in this image. The lip will engage with the retaining clips in the socket and hold it quite firmly.
