Hi, new to this, first post. I have a 500 1.2 Pop Dualogic, which I love but at weekend I was putting in some new carpet mats and I noticed in the front passenger footwell at the top just under the glove box there is some kind of metal stuff sticking through, it looks like it should be contained within the bonet, I am worried that if I have a big smash then this stuff could chop a passengers leg off!!! Please could someone clarify if they are all like this or am I missing an airbag or cowling or something... I would love to know if this is safe!!! Thanks in advance. Pebbles 500

From your description I'd say you've found the link mechanism which connects the brake pedal to the master cylinder on RHD cars.

All perfectly normal, though some have speculated that it's just about possible for a contortionist front seat passenger to push the bar and activate the brakes.

The whole LHD>RHD conversion is a bit Heath Robinson IMHO.

Yeah if it was me in the UK id just order an LHD car from the factory. I have driven a RHD car in Greece for a few months and really had no issues.
Before anyone tells me about resale value, I don't buy a car to sell it = )

Mine has a very large grey plate in the footwell and the mats also don't fit as well. Thought I had the wrong mats but the dealer said all Dualogics are like that.
