I was in Burford last Saturday, I parked my car and found a "gift" the morning after...

When I left the car there was enough space for another vehicle behind, but not a SUV. Even with parking sensor he was not able to "touch" my car...result?

I left a message on his monster and he contacted me the day after. Of course he denies damaging my 500...I don't think there is anything I can do to make it pay.

The damage is not huge but it is pretty annoying!

Yes its just a part of driving unfortunately. Not to worry, you'll get over it eventually. Once I came to my car to find my numberplate bent! I was like who on earth did that? In any case I am not worried about my bumper, as long as the steel isn't scratched I just ignore it.

Unfortunatly its a case of proving it was them, and no someone else who parked behind you before then when you were away from the car. Only CCTV or witness would help.

It's unfortunate, Burford is a nice place, been a few years since I've been mind :)

Yeah, I know...I tried to ask him politely but it didn't work. The thing which really bother me is that his car has parkig sensors so he should have intentionally "pushed" my car!

I agree, the whole area is amazing, we stayed 2 nights in Burford and drove around. Very nice places :)

Was there any damage, even miniscule, on his rear bumper? Surely this would have been an indication of contact, or not.

No damage at all on his vehicle, it looks like one of the big bolts he had on its bumper got in contact with mine...and again, this is why I don't like SUV :)

put a claim in with your insurers and let them argue it

They won't do a thing, SUV driver is innocent until proven guilty, and no damage to his car, I think something else with a towbar has hit it looking at the damage.

I'm afraid that if I do so my insurance cost will raise...am I wrong?

Correct, you'll have to pay your excess, and will loose NCD if not protected. Probably get it repaired yourself for less than your excess.

Look at what your insurance excess is -vs- do you have a no claims bonus protection. After which if it is worth it to you then pursue a claim. If not afraid it is just down to 'this is what happens sometimes'

Frustrating and annoying but that's motoring for you.

I decided to let it go, there is nothing I can do.

On the meanwhile I bought this:

and connected to this:

great gadget, next SUV will have not be lucky :)

Recently fitted a power magic pro to my Bravo. Seems good, although I did have a flat battery after leaving the car sitting for 39 hours, and only happened since fitting this, so I'm wondering if it still saps power even when its powered down the camera.

You need a twin camera setup to get the rear ;) :)

I'm using the Power Magic PRO since more than a year with the Prestigio Roadrunner HD1. The camera has always been on 24hrs and never had any problems with the battery, if configured correctly the Power Magic Pro shut down the camera if the battery goes too low.

Now I have the BlackVue DR550 2CH, which comes with a very nice back camera. The quality is amazing and I can use it also as a "reverse camera" while I'm parking since I can connect my iPhone via wifi...very cool :)

I'm hoping its just a coincidence in my case, as its the original battery (6 years old) and think its on its way out possibly.

These days 4 years from a battery is pretty good. They do tend to go suddenly though...

I habitually change batteries after 4 years regardless-why risk being stranded ?

Why waste money when a CCA test is free? My Jeep battery has 9 years on it.

Truly amazed and impressed that you get 9 years from a battery...
