Please forgive me for asking a possibly stupid question ...............

You buy tyres on-line and they arrive by post?
How do you fit them?
Do you take them to your friendly tyre fitters and they do it for you ... at a cost?

Thanks,
Mick.

Yes that's correct. Some sites offer a fitting service with a tyre depot close to you and the tyres are delivered there.

Personally I've always matched or bettered these online prices by doing a bit of haggling (faking a panic attack or simply pleading poverty seems to work :) )with my local independent tyre depot. Stay clear of the national depots QF etc. Although VERY occasionally they have genuine deals.

Oh and I saw a quote which went something like this the other day "a wise man can learn lots from a stupid question but a stupid man will learn nothing from a clever answer"..

And here's my winter tyres:)

Yes Mick, they arrive by post and you take them to a tyre fitter. I've already arranged fitting with my Hyundai dealership for a very competitive fitting price, less than the cost of one those nice new tyres! (y)

It's still cheaper than buying them from any of the tyre fitters near me. Don't forget, they all add their own mark up for the tyre, after all, they've got to make a profit. All I've done, is cut out the middle man.
