Is there any way to remove the hill holder from a 500 without getting the warning message, the wife's car has had so many plungers fitted its getting stupid.

Hi madrat, no you cannot turn off hill holder function . It's incorporated within the abs system .... :D

When I had my earlier cars it wasn't standard with ABS, you needed to add ESC to get the hill holder feature. However, since then, my last two cars have had ESC as standard and I am not really up to speed on what is now a standard fitting on the 500.

i currently still have a 500 on order, does the hill holder come with all new models released? I assumed that the 500 didnt offer this option.

is it that thing where you dont roll down the hill even though the hand brakes off or something? I currently own a classic mini and a heater is regarded as a "luxury", so i apologise for my lack of knowledge :p

I don't know about right now but when I ordered mine, in November '12, it came with the traction control as an option (which was standard on the 'C' model).

This is what fiat have fitted several of over the life of the car, it determines where the clutch peddle is. but when it starts to were it brings up error message " hill holder not available" They called it a plunger don't know if that's the correct name?
