General 500 Warranty

General 500 Warranty

Great result, but no, the warranty on the new parts will run out when the car hits three years old.

Ok, so it appears only 9 months warranty remaining then. Hopefully, there won't be any further issues.

Oh well, at least our cars' engine management system apparently now has the latest Fiat software update, whatever that may consist of.

A great result, but still appalling to see a failure like this on a car with so little age or mileage.

I very much hope this is a 'one-off' and not a precursor to the kind of issues that are regularly reported on the Panda forum.

I've scanned through the internet and there are stories of owners having this issue. To be fair to the dealer, they told me that they've only had one or two they could remember, so leading me believe it wasn't a common issue.

I've corrected the mileage, took it off the wrong fuel receipt. Still, a failure at only 13.5 k is still poor. Otherwise, all is ok, though I still haven't got round to changing the plugs. Car's running ok though with no misfires. Still, they probably could do with changing.....now where's that plugs thread!!

So guys here is the update.

We have purchased a 500!

We found a different car at a local Fiat garage and went for that one in the end.

Its a Lounge model in dark grey. Final price was 8k but its done slighter more miles. The condition of the car is immaculate. We are picking it up on Thursday after its had its service and they have sorted the paperwork out.

She was much happier buying direct from a Fiat garage rather than a car supermarket. They are also sorting everything out for us. Obviously a full service, tax and change of name for the warranty.

Thanks for all your help with things to check, i went around the car checking everything was working and ticking it off the list i printed.

Even had a test drive myself and was very impressed. Think I've been won over!
