hi there can anybody advise me if they have had the same problem are has anybody in tyne and wear with fiat multiscan and leads please had it on snap on solus but could not pick up airbag module do i need the three coloued leads for the fiat or should the snap on solus pro of worked.any help or advise wouls be rely helpfull please.

Assuming the software can read it also. OP, I'd recommend getting the leads and yourself a copy of MultiECUscan.net

as suggested in the other thread, try the connectors first.

tried the ones under the seat if i get the leads and connect to the airbag module itself would that pin point the fault better another thing when you say i need airbag lead would that be for to use the snap on diagnostics too

Consult snap on. They will know

were is the thread on checking connections or which ones will i check done the knee and under seat ones.

Yesterday when i started my car (Abarth 500), i got a message on the dash saying: "fuel cut off unavailable”.

Also the 2 airbag (the red one-driver's airbag, and the yellow one-passenger airbag) and seat belt light were on.

I went immediately to the nearest fiat dealer, to connect my abarth to the computer, to show me what’s going wrong.

Unfortunately, the computer can’ t read the airbag electrical control unit!

The fiat mechanic told me, that the airbag electrical control unit seems to be out of order.

Now, I am waiting him to inform me, if this is 100% the problem, which cause the airbag lights, on.

I must say that before 4 months, I changed the OEM seats, with a pair of sparco R-100 bucket seats.

To avoid any indicator airbag light on, Ι succeeded to bypass the seat airbag, witha jumper (2.2 ohms), like the OEM jumper in the sabelt seats.

As you know the the Sabelt seats come with a "jumper" it isan orange plastic piecewith a resistor inside (2.2 ohms) that will fool the ECUinto thinking the airbags are still there and not put the airbag light on thedashboard.

I wonder if the jumper caused the whole problem with the airbag electrical control unit (if this is the problem with the airbag lights on) or it just the unit it spoiled.

let me know how you get on i have just ordered the leads so should be here today ive never changed my seat i had a snap on diagnostics on it but would not connect to airbag module the same so i joined here and was advised to get fiat multi scan and leads to try proxy aliment them try and cannect to airbag will let you know how i get on just price the air bag ecu it £359 just for the part hope its not that.

Finally the problem is from the airbag electrical control unit.
It costs 350 euros.

The FIAT mechanic told me that the jumber, 100% didn't cause any problem to the control unit, it just spoiled.

hi there just come in from car seen your message i got the leads today and set laptop away with proxy aligment becuase i could not pick the air bag module ecu up but it cleared all the faults and everything is back to normall but still cant pick airbag ecu up be all lights out and error codes.

What cable have you got? Airbag system needs K-Line cable and not ELM iirc.

i just went of the multi can supported cars list which say elm for air bags have i done something wrong.

Should i try and connect with k line and the coloured lead red or yellow?

If you've a K-line lead then yes this is what you'll need to connect to it with, if you haven't a K-line lead you won't be able to connect to the ABS ECU.

it airbags i want to connect to not abs?

ive just read k line could damage my 500 is that right or wrong

I ment Airbag, sorry, was posting from my phone and had predictive text on :bang:

I've yet to know someone cause damage using a K-line lead.

so do i connect the k lead with red or the yellow adaptor lead
