I'll try to summarise from the above, and my experience.
Yes, there are two bulbs in the housing in the wheelarch. One of them is a single filament headlamp bulb for high (or main) beam, which comes on when the lights are switched on and the lighting stalk is pushed forward. This isn't the one you need to change.
The other bulb is the twin filament parking/DRL bulb. With the lights switched off and the engine on, the 21W (bright) filament should glow, this is the DRL. With the lights switched on, dipped beam, you'll see that your top headlights (dipped beam) are on, and there should be a dimmer glow from the lower lamp housing from the 5W filament. These go off when you switch the engine off, but will turn on again if you leave the ignition off, then switch the lights to OFF, then ON again.
It's the twin-filament bulb shown in the pictures above that needs changing. It's a bit fiddly, but do-able. I'd recommend waiting until it's a bit warmer, and daylight!
