Hello Everyone,

About to get my Fiat 500, Street, TwinAir DualLogic in a week or two time. The car will be for commuting to work in central London, and This is the first time I own a Fiat. I am approaching this experience with a sense of excitement and trepidation.

This is also very different to other cars I had and have now in term of size and power, my head says it is the right thing to do, I hope that after few weeks, my heart will tell me the same thing.

The only optional extra is upgraded sound System. What do I look for in terms of extras and gadgets to add?

Thank you in advance

Welcome to the FF red sun.
Can't go wrong with the Italian badges on the wings or if you haven't got the rubbing stripes another option is on the bottom of the rear quarter panels.
What colour did you go for ?

A lot of members here have downgraded to the 500. You will love it...or you may hate it but even if you hate it and have to sell the car don't worry as it will probably have lost less than you current expensive car would have in the same time.

The stereo upgrade is OK, it's not as good as a BOSE upgrade on more expensive cars but if you take your time setting it up and wait a few months (it's starts to sound a lot better when the speakers bed in a bit) it's great.

Thanks for the warm welcome,

I 'm getting Crossover black. I did not really have too much choice in term of options. I needed the car quickly and the dealer had couple that are built and on a ship comming to the UK and delivers in 2 weeks. So I opted for the discount and the speed of delivery and decided that what is on offer is good enough.

Exactly rui mine sounds better than ever after 2 years! I would def. go for the stereo upgrade. By the way, you need a lot of patience as it probably took me the best part of 2 months to find the best setting for my stereo!. For the record, i have loud mode turned off, i have bass at +4, treble at 0, the Equalizer compelely flat, and i connect my iphone which is already tuned to the Rock equalizer. All this at volume 23 and it sounds really good!

Thats good enough! The only thing i have extra to you would be the leather seats. Other than that, your car has heating and ac, a steeringwheel, an automatic gearbox, seats, a normal handbrake (none of those stupid buttons that they have on audis etc), mirrors, windows, brakes, an engine, and an old school key that you have to turn to start the engine. Tough life isnt it? Oh and sorry, you have to operate the wipers by turning the stick, no auto wipers on this baby.

Anyway being serious, your Fiat 500 will just be fine with what it has. This fetish with optional extras is just for car manufacturers to make more money. I remember reading that because the Audi A2 was so expensive to manufacture (alumninum body shell on a city car anyone?), they only made money on the optional extras.

Best of luck with the new car, i am sure you will like the basic and easy to drive characteristics of this car.

With the Black there's the option of the Abarth kit (which is also available with the Red). You could get the dealer to add the skirts and the 'extended' rear spoiler. You wouldn't have the 'by diesel' wheels but they can be picked up if your patient.

Thanks you. With the 500, I am not realy looking for the Abarth look here, for that kind of look, I usualy use my weekend toy, which is a Porsche 911 Turbo. It is a proper weapon. This in no way a disrispect to the Abarth, which I am sure it is a wonderful car

Nice car, there is a member on here that has a 997 gt3 as his weekend car. He drives a 1.2 500 in the week.
