Hello

Noticed i had my front left headlight out yesterday so changed the bulb but was still out even after trying with a third bulb.

Guessing the dipped fuse has gone F13 7.5 Amp. Anyone know what fuse i need to buy i.e. Is it just a Mini Blade Fuse??

Thanks

Alex (59 Plate 1.3 Diesel 500)

The fuse is likely to be okay otherwise the other headlamp would also not work. It's more likely to be a connection issue.

Take the block connector off the back of the headlamp bulb and attach it to a test bulb (use blade connectors on the end of the test bulb wires and stick them into the connector block spades).

If the bulb lights up then the connector block is okay and the problem is the new bulb. I guess the test bulb won't light up, so then you need to test why not.

The next thing back is the wiring into the connector block. You'll need to connect the test bulb to the wires directly, rather than into the connector block spades. If you have an electrical tester the probes are pointed for poking through the insulation.. otherwise you can cut a teeeeeny nick into the insulation with a Stanley knife etc.

If a direct contact with the wires doesn't work then you'll need to trace where in the circuit the current ends.. that's where the "break" is.

My guess is that the wires are good but one of them isn't making a good connection with it's spade connector, or the spade connector is damaged/corroded etc. and isn't making good contact with the bulb. Use a tiny nail file, passing it in and out of the spade connector to clean it up without deforming it.

But do check the fuses too... 500 could have one per headlamp. (?) Have a look in the fusebox.. look for any that are burnt out.. should be a little "lamp" symbol next to it.

I'd guess it uses just regular blade fuses. Don't fit anything except the same rating fuse.
