Hello everyone.... hope someone can help!

I have posted this elsewhere on here, but got no response... so hope you don't mind me posting again!

My cigarette lighter doesn't work in my Fiat 500 (2008 Pop 1.2) - I don't smoke, but need the power socket for my sat nav for work.

I looked in the manual, and saw that the relevant fuse was F85 (front power socket), so I went to Halfords and got a new fuse...

... but the cigarette lighter STILL doesn't work

What else could the problem be? Could it be a wiring issue?

Could it be a different fuse?! I found another small fuse box in the 'glove box' at the passenger side, but there's nothing in my manual about what any of those are for?

Many thanks for any advice! I may just have to take it to get checked out at the FIAT dealer?

I've had trouble with the power sockets in the 500 and in the current MiTo since it's a loose fitting. Have you tried a different 'plug in' adapter needing the power socket ?
E.g. the cheapie charger that you get in a 'corner shop' for an iphone has wide prongs and seems fit without having to 'jam' a slimmer one in with a bit of cardboard.
The Sat nav charger with an older Garmin worked for me without any fiddling.

The fuse is definitely in the engine bay. I've blown mine a few times......

What causes yours to blown ?
The OH is looking for a charger for her laptop / ipad. Not too sure if it can 'take it'.

I have a charger for my macbook pro, one for the ipad and one for the iphone and they have all been OK and not blown a fuse.

It's not a cheapo power socket I have, its the proper TomTom one?

I don't have any other car power sockets to try out!

Every time it's been my Michelin 12v tyre pump. Fine with phone/sat nav chargers.
