Ok, so the gf wants her 500 to have a mirror in the visor. I know, I know, I know...... Don't judge.

Strikes me that a LHD passenger side visor would do just fine as that would have the mirror in.

Any ideas on how to track such a thing down? Are they the same as any other Fiat models?

Thanks
C
P.S. It is a 2011 DIESEL (as in special edition rather than fuel although confusingly it is a DERV too)

I have been messing around with one but to make an iphone dock in the visor. You can buy them from the link below.
Just make sure you tell them you want a LHD one with the mirror. An other thing if you have the dy diesel then you may have a black visor and they are quite rare to find so again make sure you let them know the colour you need.

I'm sure I read that it's law that a drivers sun visor must have a cover included with it. Bare that in mind if the LHD passenger version doesn't have one.

This is the Ka drivers visor. It's a LHD drivers one but to give you an idea. Check the connectors are identical. I'd guess they are

I have mirrors in both visors. I requested this when I configured my car. The dealer was happy to do this for me. The car comes from abroad and the drivers side is on the other side of the car so I think that is how they got around my request. Ask your dealer.

My 2011 61 reg twin air lounge doesn't have a mirror on the driver side either. The visors included are both cheap and nasty if you ask me. The passenger mirror doesn't even have a cover. I might look into replacements on both sides at some point.

Many thanks one and all - didn't realise (being new here) the KA parts were as common as the sunvisor.

Many thanks.

Having a catch up on FF posts this rainy evening (rain, now there's a novelty...) and this caught my eye because this very same thing has been on my mind too.

I'm the driver 99.99% of the time :D, have the opening roof open most days and wear contact lenses. So there's always the possibility of dust, tree museli, bug-dom and my own hair blowing into my eyes. My rear-view mirror is actually angled correctly to see the rear view of the road, not me, so it's some thing I'd really like to get hold of too!

It didn't even occur to me to ask if the driver got a mirror when putting my order in, so any females in the ordering process going for a 500C or opening roof might want to ask for/about a drivers side visor mirror.

I'll see what questioning my dealership next week comes up with and in the meanwhile keep an eye out for a travel mirror with a cover, which I can slip through the plastic strap on the visor.

Following on from my last post, the OEM part has arrived but alas it's not right, er let's use the word "correct" instead. The mirror doesn't have a cover, so it's not what I asked for.
Anyway the following label on the package shows what to avoid:

Part No: 735471267
Description: "SUN VISOR LATO DX AVORIO"

Some more digging to come, so more when I know more. Seems there's several variants of mirrors that get put in at the factory - so ladies, if you're currently speccing up your cute lil car and want a covered driver's side mirror being the main driver, then do make sure you ask about the options as they're certainly not mentioned anywhere as being 'speccable'. If one isn't available, I'll keep this one and just have some fun with making my own cover, maybe make the mirror some gingham curtains or something!

I have only one mirror in my house (in the bathroom) which I'm told is a bit unusual  so I hadn't noticed that there's no mirror in my 500's driver's side visor, and the one in the passenger's side has no cover. This is a 2010 (2009-built) Sport version. Also, the visors look smaller than the ones photographed in this thread.

Visited the dealership today and the other thing we spoke about was the getting hold of this mirror issue. It seems Fiat don't routinely put a mirror in the driver's side now for safety reasons (ie to discourage make-up application, shaving, plucking, inspection of nasal detrius etc whilst at the wheel - that's what your only mirror in the house is for). However they have a black 500C with red roof (nice colour combo) just in this week and lo, in the current 500C's range the drivers side does have Ye Covered Looking Glass with the passenger side having the uncovered mirror.

So, I'm waiting with baited breath to see if this is the answer! Parts Dept have now been supplied the vehicle's id and this is what they need to submit to Fiat to gain the mystery part number so another mirror exactly the same can be ordered. Once that arrives, on the packaging will be the magic (part) number. Will post that here assuming it really is all going to be "simples" from now on, until delivery of the right thing.

Hi again - well that was quick!
The covered mirror for the driver's side arrived today and now fitted (a doddle).

Here's the legwork so it can all be simples for you too.
Info from the Fiat spare parts (Fiat Auto Ricambi)packaging says:

Part Number: 0735497468
Description: SUNVISOR LATO DX AVORIO (translation: sun visor right hand ivory)
Price I paid: £30.50 inc VAT (ordered from my local Fiat Parts department).

Byeee :)

Excellent information there! :)

I know exactly what to do to upgrade now, but I guess it doesn't come with the Blue&Me sticker, I love that sticker  the Italian on it makes me laugh, something like "questo vettura con Blue&Me"...

I would also want to check the dimensions to see if it is taller (longer) than the sunvisor on my passenger's side.

Nice to see a reasonable price on an item for a change (y) not like the $971 I was quoted for a wheel (under the same pricing, a sunvisor would probably be $200 but your quote is about $60 :))
