Hi guys. I have read various threads on aux connectors for non B & M stereos but dont seem to have found a conclusive "this is the part required" answer. Have spoken to the supplier and he assured me this would work with my stereo and i should know by next week when i get it fitted.

If anyone thinks otherwise then please say but i will feed back positive or negative if this works. Plan is to fit this and then feed a normal aux cable out through the glove box.

Part is http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/250889554...54035&_sacat=See-All-Categories&_fvi=1&_rdc=1

It would appear that you wil lose the CD play capability since it's using the CD port. An additional wire would be needed to 'convert' the L & R input into a single ouput jack from say an ipod/iphone.

If I was fitting the adapter I would look into setting up a Bluetooth receiver like the one from Gear4 powering it though the USB socket (Note: I haven't done this) so that the music from the iphone/ipod could play 'wirelessly'. This setup might be more benefical if the USB socket was in the glovebox like they are on the US 500 or some of the other models in the Fiat range.

EDIT: Streaming that was done across the pond and the Gear4 dongle explained on post #13...

Hmmm, why would i lose the cd play capability? I thought you could toggle through CD & Aux input.

I wont be using it if i cant use the cd player.

Hmmm, may be worth looking into the bluetooth

Hopefully someone else will confirm if that is true or not.

The bluetooth setup may not be as slick since there would be a power wire running down to the gear shift from the USB socket.

Deeyup's option sounds like a better option if you could get it cheaper.

Hey,

I just bought a fiat 500 and was very annoyed it did not come with a basic 3.5mm jack audio inout function to plug my mp3 device.

I therefore bought the blue iso connector on advice from another thread, which doesnt work- very frustrating :bang:.

Before buying the yellow iso cable like the one you got (but connected to a 3.5mm jack), ive been trying to research if it actually works, but all threads seem to run dry and remain inconclusive.

Please let me know if this worked in the end. Also, what make is your stereo? I took mine out and its a non blue and me 'Bosch 312 MP3'. From what I can gather, earlier fiat 500 models had Blaupunkt factory stereos, so just wanted to check.

Thanks in advance!

Hi there. I started this thread and unfortunately didnt follow it up with any answers. So here it is. It doesnt work.I had the cable fitted by an auto electrician and fed through to a convenient place. Then we fiddled with the head unit for ages. Couldnt get any eveidence of a aux function on the head unit. The auto eloectrician then suggested it may be something the dealership had to activate. Called them and i may as well have been talking umba gumba for all they understood. So i have the cable fitted but no way of using it. I even emailed the supplier off ebay and they have been next to useless. They just keep saying the same thing which is to activate the aux function. The standard stereo doesnt have the aux function.Anyhow, taking pitty on me the auto electrician handed over a new piece of kit he had. It is a dab convertor which works on the stereo frequency and gives me digital radio with the added bonus of an aux input as well. Its worked quite well other than i dont like wires about. If i decide i want it permanent then i will have it hard wired in

From Littlest Hobo's response it looks like the cable option doesn't work which is very disappointing. I would suggest that these cables be returned to sellers so no more time is wasted by individuals trying to get them to work.

Had a look back at the Xcarlink and it does state that it needs B&Me. It's pricey though.

I've bought Griffin products before in the past & have been pleased with them. Have you tried using a high quality FM transmitter ? Another one that got a mention was Mediagate but I have not used any of these devices.

Last option is to change the headunit as suggested by Deeyup.

If you get a chance you might update the forum with what you ended up doing.

As i said. I upgraded to a DAB setup which gets me all my extra favourite channels. Otherthan a 12v wire i have it plumbed in out of the way in the little glove box shelf. That give me an aux connector too. Will photograph it tonight if you like

Hi, thanks everyone for your replies!

Littlest Hobo, thanks for the offer, yes please it would be great to see what the final product looks like! Also if you can, please let me know what brand and model your DAB setup is. I was hoping to be able to fit this myself, but the idea of wiring power in puts me off a little. How much did the auto-electrician charge you in the end?

Didnt get around to taking a picture last night. Will try tonight but the spurs match is on ;-)Anyhow, even if you dont like wiring you can just use the 12v socket instead. I just want it to eventually have no wires about. The DAB works well and as i like talksport and absolute 80's it works as a bonus when i actually get custody of the car

I finally got it! I have added Bluetooth and SD card to my Fiat 500 Pop 2012, it has a Bosch 312 MP3 AUX2. Here is what need to do:

1. Purchase this with BT module from ebay:
"Bluetooth BT Fiat and Alfa Romeo AUX adapter interface USB SD Punto 500 147 idea"

2. Install it to the CD Changer socket at the back.

3. Start the car, press "CD" once for the "CD Changer" to appear. Done!

Simple steps and solved all my problem!

Does that include the whole front of the stereo? or is it just the part you plug in? My interior is cream so I wouldn't want a black stereo

Way too late for you but found whilst trying to find the wiring diagram for the aux connector and it may hell others.
If it's the same as the panda (and since the loom is I presume the radio works the same)....
You can fit a box to the connector that would have gone to the CD changer. On the panda it's tucked behind the glovebox as the changer fills that up.
Then when on CD press CD again and it goes to the changer.
