Does anyone know how to clip back on a Fiat 500 drivers side wing mirror? It came off in my other halfs hand when he tried to fold it back. It does not appear to be broken and it looks like it should clip back on but there must be a nack!!! Anyone know what it is??

I needed to give ours a really good punch, it won't go back whilst you still have the mirror folded in - well, ours didn't anyway.

Did any of you remove the mirror glass before puting back on the cover? Someone stole mine :(

I suspect the OP's mirror has come apart, and they want to put it back together, rather than the back coming unclipped.

In which case, you need my other thread from a couple of weeks back. I'm on the mobile for a couple of days househunting so can't easily link to it - perhaps someone else will link it for me.

Thanks Alex. Silly me for not reading the date on the first post!

I suspect the only reason this isn't happening more often is because most folks don't fold their mirrors much.

Indeed - I was surprised at the design weakness. The mirrors of the Grande Punto look identical to the 500, so I think your advice has widespread relevance.

Here in NZ it's unusual to fold the mirrors of any car - garages and parking spaces are usually wide enough - also, I found the 500 very narrow compared to my Alfa 166!

As proof of parking spaces being 'generous', here's a photo of typical parking on Auckland's Ponsonby Rd (which coincidentally is the most likely place to spot a 500 or a MINI ;)).
