Which engine and model do you have

Interesting how many folks are voting TwinAir, given that it's only been available for a short time compared to other engine variants.

I guess it's because for an outsider to the marque/model, it's seen as an engine that really suits the cheeky nature of the car. I have to confess I never drove any of the other models, just the TA when I was choosing mine, but that was because the idea of just another four cylinder engine powered FWD didn't really appeal to me - even if it is in a pretty package.

The technical appeal of the twin air engine is the main reason I like my car, it drives really well (some might say quirkily, but I like it!), and the stylish package on top is the icing on the cake for me.

Yes- I wonder how the sales of the TA compare to that of the other petrol engines since the TA has come onto the market.

The writing's on the wall for the (non Abarth) four cylinder models. Soon there'll be the non-turbo twinair for the economy models (500 & Panda) and a higher tuned turbo version to replace the somewhat pedestrian 1.4 with something much more lively.
My TwinAir just gets better and better as it loosens up with more miles on the odometer.

How many miles have you done in it? Mine's just about to click over 1500 and it has a real whoosh of a surge in mid range torque now - it's great fun riding the torque curve when leaving roundabouts etc and shooting past people when they don't expect it. It's not a fast car by any means, but good fun and ideal for city driving.

I wrote some while ago about how it has the character of a warm hatch. And it really does, especially if you get the power just right. As you say it may not be ultimately fast, but it is not all about the 0-60, its how it can carry speed and maintain progress which is great.

Similar mileage myself. The (Eco) button still make it slow and change up far too early and hold on to too high a gear (mine's Dualogic). In normal mode it's fantastic. The noise and power delivery suit the car, making (IMO) the 1.2 & 1.4 feel very 'ordinary'

This is a good example of "lies, damned lies and statistics".

I suspect that the proportion of Twin Air owners voting is high on this site because people come here not just to enjoy Maxi's banter but because they are considering buying or have recently bought a 500.

I would guess that attendance on Fiat Forum will, for many members, drop off over time. So that fact skews the results of this poll in favour of current models.

Probably.

Exactly what I was going to say.

Most people come on here post a "Look at me! I've got a 500, aren't I the bestest!!!!!?!?!?!?!" thread, perhaps post a "How do I get into the document compartment?" thread and then come to whinge about servicing costs when their first service comes around.

It's natural with the Twinair being a new engine and a popular one at that, that there should be a disproportionate number of active members with them. I'd wager that there are probably 4 or 5 times as many 1.2's than twinair's on here in reality :)

Love the 1.2 Lounge edition. Low fuel consumption and many extras available! ^_^ I got one 6 months ago :)

can someone delete my vote as it is wrong and also for some weird reason I forgot to bring my brain into today
