Just got my car back from the garage after repairs to the roof, number of dents near the rear drivers side and near the aerial. However have now discovered the roof lining is damaged, two creases on the rear pillars plus the lining on the roof is also all rippled.According to the repair sheet the whole roof lining was removed.Have been back to the repairers who said they did not remove the whole lining just bent it back as far as the plastic rivits to reach the aerial for removal (whick has been put back on wonky)because the lining is bonded to the roof. The garage Nationwide crash repair centre said the will contact the insurance company and if they don't authorise a new roof lining, the repairers will replace it.Looking at the lining it seams that an awful lot of rubber and plastic will have to be removed in order to get the new lining on.Has anyone had experience of what is involved, seeing that the garage did not want to remove it in the first do I trust them to do it now.Going back to the garage tomorrow so any advise would be helpful.

I've no experience in replacing a roof lining but if it has to be done - it has to be done. It reminds 'us' of a Golf diesel that was bought many moons ago from a farmer at a 'good price' and during the summer the car stunk of sheep 'dirt'. When we pulled the carpet back in the hatchback area the 'evidence' was found. We managed to get a new interior from a crashed car in the Northern Ireland and promptly got rid of it (but it was a s*** car anyway). We looked at replacing the lining but it looks lke a job for the pros. The best of luck (y)
