To the right of the display console there are 3 small buttons in a vertical line, marked "+" "-" & "Menu".

Turn on the ignition but don't start the car.

Press "Menu" once - you should see 2 tiny orange arrows on the display.

Press "-" once - the display should now read "Speed Beep". If it doesn't, just keep pressing "-" until it does.

When the display is showing "Speed Beep", press "Menu" again; the display should now be flashing and showing either "On" or "Off" depending on whether the speed beep is on or off.

If it's "On", press "-" once and it should now be flashing "Off".

Press "Menu" again until the display says "Menu".

Now press "+" until the display says "Exit Menu".

Press "Menu" and the display should revert to normal.

Job done.

To SET the speed beep, press "Menu" at the point when the display says "Speed Beep: On" and the "On" is flashing. You can then use the "+" and "-" keys to set the speed you want. Then go through the "Exit Menu" procedure in the same way as before.

Having written this, I realise it's much easier to show someone how to do it than to describe it!

I had been told that GCC models fiat 500 speed beep cannot be disabled, you are lucky in Europe models the function is there as described above my dealer tried everything to disable it, anyone can help you more I could do the sound is so annoying it was set up at 120km per hour and i cannot change that setting, any wiring diagram to disconnect the source will be useful for me

Bummer(n)

I'm sure someone'll come up with a workaround eventually and I suspect the solution lies in software, not hardware. I'd be surprised if it's feasible to 'disconnect the source' as the speed sensor drives several other functions which you certainly don't want to lose.

Perhaps it just might be worth posting the question on Yani's fiatecuscan forum??

The point is they probably can't.....

It is very easy with the wide open roads, the cheap petrol and of course a 1.4L engine

. Some amazing cars in UAE although I never saw a 500 when I was over there. I wonder what age these 'guys' are ? !!!!

I think he meant the dealer couldn't do it, rather than the car's couldn't... lol!
