Dealer called the car will be ready Wednesday at 3.30...will report in on new engine!

Lets hope the car with options at £17,350 was worth it......:)

The engine will improve a lot after a bit of running in, but I'm sure it'll still be great out of the box. Top choice! (y)

MY MY, that's... Interesting:D
:D

Just like when visiting a flat/house to buy, assessing the decor by saying "it's errrrrrr..... different!", that'd be a more "polite" way to say it's sh*te, right? :p

On the OP subject, does anyone know (even roughly) how many miles it'd take before the diesel becomes more economical than its petrol equivalent?

Spec is not massive:

Red Paint Option
Black Leather
Side Rubbing Strip
Black Side Stripe

Go on Fiat config and you can add over another £1,000 on top of 17,350!!

That is the price for this car...cheaper than a Mini Cab Still!!

Also 2010 Spec with new engine and start stop as standard.

Its all about what you want.:D

:D

Purchase price over a pop 1.2 is +£2400, economy is 3.25 vs 5.1 (combined) = +1.85l/100km better.
1.85l @ £1.17 = £2.16 saving per 100km over a 1.2

£2400/2.16 = 1111*100km = 111,111km = 69,041miles before you recoup the inital purchase price.

or something like that !

The petrol equivalent is the 1.4, not the 1.2

Why? They used to be the same cost but the 1.4 is £1000 cheaper than the 1.3. The 1.2 shares the same tax bracket and is therefor equivalent in CO2 and the 1.3 and 1.4 have similar bhp. Its all pretty arbitrary tbh I chose to give an example of the two best mpg cars.

The 95bhp diesel has never been the same cost as the 1.4. Otherwise, you've answered your own question.

When I bought my multijet (75) I compared it with the 1.4, not the 1.2, due to the torque figures, and it was as plain as day which made the most financial sense. I simply discounted the 1.2, as it clearly wouldn't meet up with my requirements.

The moment you said "when I bought my multijet" you basically showed that all you were giving was an opinion. Most and I stress most people don't need the power of either the mj or the 1.4 so the 1.2 and mj are directly comparable.
