Just wondering if anyone knows anything about the new 500 estate? I just searched and couldnt find anything about it from the last year really.

On hold at the moment. It's meant to be built on the new Panda platform but judging by the fact that they've facelifted the Panda we won't see the new Panda platform for a while yet.

It's been cancelled.

The new Panda comes later this year. Four inch longer wheelbase than the present one, and built on a modified 500 chassis - which is a modified Panda chassis...

just been on the fiat website-

i do like the panda- and it will do everything a 500 estate would have done!....probably more!

Don't forget, this is the facelift of the CURRENT Panda, not the current model's REPLACEMENT, which comes later in the year - with a longer wheelbase and all new engines.

It will be better than any 500 estate could be because it will have the proper compliment of doors: should be a great little car.

I quite liked the idea:

One of these, the t-jet engine. Mmmm, yes please.

A little more practical than the base 500, but not as useful as the Panda will be. I'm sure the new Panda will be cute though.

Fiat have made it quite clear that they can't bring new Chryslers to market, as well as convert some others of these to European specs, without abandoning a number of cars they had speculated on introducing. Budget constraints I'm afraid.

The 500 estate would not have been a big seller anyway. There won't be a new Multipla either; this niche will be covered by the replacement Doblo and some re-badged and engineered Chrysler MPVs.

Nothing but the new Multiar engines for the Bravo either, and Alfa has no new models on the stocks after the new Giulietta is launched, and Lancia is pretty much on life support.
