Thanks!

Have to agree. Red leather with black ambience however would look LOVELY in that combo though, think of the contrast between red leather and the grey (y)

When we picked our car up the salesman said he didn't think the red leather would look nice but that he was pleasantly surprised at how good it looked.

If I'm honest I don't think tan is a nicer choice than black though as with black you'd be in a sea of dark colours and that would just be a bit boring. Go for the wild contrast, go for red leather with black ambience.

exactly what my friend Helen has just ordered, electroclash grey car red leather with black ambience (y)
Red is just such a good colour for leather when you've got a contrast. I was a bit worried that ours would looks a bit boudoir'ish but it turned out nice :)

Think black leather would look nice with a pasadoble or ragamuffin car though.

Agree that red leather with black ambience and the grey would probably look amazing.

I love the tan leather interior but not sure if it would look right with grey? It might, but is a bit of a gamble if you go for it and then looks awful when it arrives!

The links to the photos are a great reminder of how the tan leather REALLY worked with Ye Ye Green. If only I could have had my 500c in Ye Ye Green, tan leather with ivory ambience and an ivory roof...... Anyway as that is not an option I am sure the red will be just as nice:)

I've got black with black ambience and red leather. Red leather looks lovely but its a bugger to keep clean.

I've used Auto Glym Leather Cleaner and leather cream and it's kept it nice and clean. Cleaner worked very nicely when I got some brake dust from the steelies I bought on the back of one of the seats.

Tried that but its a bit of a pain in the arse. I never seem to get good results. I'm sorely tempted to buy 2 x Recaro Pole Position seats to replace them :)

If you're going to do that you should consider swapping your leather seats for some cloth ones with someone on the forum. For a price of course ;)

You could always take the gamble and if you really can't live with it change the colour using Vinylcote (depite the name it works just as well on leather). When I replaced the seats and door cards in my TR7 with black ones I used this on the sunvisors, rear panel behind the seats and vinyl trim pieces around the windscreen and in the footwells. Thirteen years on you'd still never know that they were originally tan even though it's open top and been exposed to a lot of sun (unless you peer right into the depths of the sun-visor's pocket with a torch)!

I'd love to see Electroclash with tan leather, I thought that would be about the nicest combo you could possibly put on a standard 500 and I seriously considered it for my own, very classy and a good match for my Panerai ;) but I've never seen it in the flesh or any photos of that combination either.

Anyway, back to tan seats. Here's the interior of my wife's pop with tan leather & ivory ambiance. They were a little paler then, I've been putting Zymol Treat on them and they are glossier and a little darker now.

Ermmm do they not look just a bit patchy?

Yes they were like that when it was brand new. Quite dry to the touch as well, like a pair of shoes that needed a polish. Not patchy at all now I've been giving them a little TLC and plenty of leather food.
