Like many of you I am going mad waiting for my little 500 to arrive. I am trying to wait until Sept 1st if I can - I just wondered how many of us will hopefully be picking our sparkly new 500's up on the 1st? Could have a big Birthday Party :D (ok you can see I've gone slightly mad with all this waiting!:))

Would be nice to have the new reg, but will have mine as soon as its ready :D ...if thats before Sept thats fine (y)

Me too! And soooo excited!

i don't know if i'll get mine on the 1st. but our little 500 is being built right now. they said early september.
it's ok. i'm going mad with the waiting too :D

Don't blame you :p, TBH if you were to wait to new reg it would only be out of date within 6 months :p

I agree with you but I was advised to wait the two weeks because it will make a difference for on sale value in the future?? I have no idea if this is true but I guess it's one of those where everyone will have their opinion?

I think there will be a few very excited people on Sept 1st - look forward to seeing everyones photos :)

I suppose it could slightly. But at the end of the day a 3 year old car is a 3 year old car depending upon date of first reg rather than reg prefix lol.

my car was at the dealers and would have been ready for collection c25th august last year, but I waited until 1st Sept. Actually I had to wait in the end until the 13th Sept as I was away for a weekend but the car was registered as 13th Sept, not 1st so that was good. I'd wait if it was me (well I did!).

Thanks Heidi - I think I will. :) It'll be worth the wait I'm sure :)

There are several factors in the equation, such as model, mileage etc, but at 3 years old, the plate will make about £200-£300 difference.

3 years in the future there are 2 500 sitting next to each other on the forecourt.
Both are BNW both are Lounges both are specced to the exact same level, and both are 3 years old.
however one is an 09 plate the other a 59 plate. Which one do you want more?

In general, the average used car customer takes little notice of the registration (or indeed, doesn't understand it), but when valuing a vehicle, it does make a difference. The other side of the coin is mileage. On certain valuations, where the car has covered higher than average mileage, it can be advantagous to be on an older plate, making the mileage appear less per annum.

I guess that if they are identical then Fiat lied when they said that there are over 500,000 different combinations before an identical car will be specced.

I don't want either of them... I want a brand new 500C in yellow with black roof and black leather, a new engine, revised suspension and new sparkly headlights with little washers that pop up out the bumper! Thanks for the offer tho! :ROFLMAO:

The one with less stone chips on it.
