Help! Went to look at the 500 on Friday :) and have been back this morning so the salesman could look at my car and give me a price for part exchange etc and then tell me what monthly payment would be on I Style.

My dilema now is do i get a Pop and add air con and a few other bits i'd like eg stripe or dp i go for the lounge with no extra bits??!

Thing is it's really up to you. I've ordered a lounge so of course I'd say get a lounge whereas others who've ordered a pop will probably say go for a pop.

Lounge adds leather steering wheel, blue&me, air con, chrome kit, alloy wheels, glass roof and different seats.

What were you going to add on? Get the price of the pop then add them on and then work out the difference and see if you want to pay that much extra for those bits :)

Another thing to consider is that when it comes to resale time a pop will be worth less than a lounge no matter what options you add.

Think i'll have to talk to the husband who is paying when he gets back from work!!! Somehow i think he'll say the lounge as we'll get more back.

bear in mind any options will add zero value to the car second-hand. I'd defo just get the lounge rather than speccing up a pop if you're looking at lounge money.

I think it just comes down to personal taste, requirements and staying within budget, i liked the lounge but as im just under 6 foot 5 i found there was not enough headroom with the glass roof, a sport would have done but i drove one and found the bulsters on the seats uncomfortable so in the end ive ordered a pop with A/C, i would of liked blue & me and alloys but couldnt justify the cost as by that time i`d be getting close to lounge/sport price.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

so he doesn't know he's buying a 500 for you yet!!

Yes, he knows he is buying me one! I did buy him some beer when i went shopping earlier ;)

As he is around the 6 foot mark i think i'll get him to sit in the lounge and see if theres enough head space and if there is go with that. As it doesn't seem much point in adding extras to the pop when they won't increase its resale value when we come to trade it in.

If there isn't have a look at a Start&Stop.

That would get you Pop seats with all the extras of the Lounge except the sunroof, with the added benefit of being more economical than the Pop and Lounge. The money you save in petrol over the course of ownership will help towards the extra you spend up front.

Good thinking!

Never thought of that. Something else for us to think about. Thanks :)

Decisions decisions eh :) ...took me ages to decide which one to get. Some great advice given already, so hope it helps and you will soon have your 500 (y)

I've had to ban myself from doing more configurations!! The more i looked the more confused etc i got.

If hubby has enough head room we're going for a lounge in Bossa Nova with black cloth/ivory ambiance. If not enough head room it will be the Pop in Bossa Nova with the red and ivory seats with added chrome kit, air con and italian flag stripe plus 500 on roof.

Keep on doing configs :) It's only by doing lots of configs that you will find what looks nice, what you like and what's not so nice.

If hubby is 6' then chances are his hair will be rubbing on the roof blind/surround.

The start stop is an excellent option - forget the start/stop bit, just look at the spec. Split seats, air con, alloys, B&Me, body coloured mirrors.

Thing is it's not just the total height, its the proportion too... some people have longer bodies and shorter legs, and vice versa, so this will have a bearing... if you have more of your height from your bum to the top of your head, then you are more likely to connect with the roof blind. If you have a shorter body but longer legs, youll have more headroom but your knees will be round your ears. Not always an unpleasant prospect but it depends what you are doing at the time!

yep - i'm 6' but only 31" inside leg (ooo errr), and my head rubs on the blind with the seat at its lowest setting

That's true, my inside leg is 33, makes all the difference. I used to work with a chap of "normal" height, roughly 5'10 or so, but his proportions were almost like a dwarf - probably no more than 25 inside leg...
