Hi there, I'm new to the site but loving this 500 Abarth so trying to do a bit of research.

I'm fortunate enough to work at a Ferrari dealer and we have just taken delivery of a new 'Ferrari' edition Abarth 500, and wondering where on the net I can find out more info on it.

Its red with the silver F30 Scuderia strip with these new Sabelt seats & looks like it has the SS kit fitted. The car looks awesome and created alot more atention over some of the Ferrari's.

Hopefully once its registered should be able to use it for the odd weekend but really, is there any more info on these particular 'Ferrari' editions models about??

Only real info was given in a press release about the new seats. The seats would be fitted to 200 cars europe wide for Ferrari dealers to use as courtesy cars. They also have a different exhaust system they are possibly going to release in the same way as the seats. They have SS wheels but the pictures of Meridian's car is missing all the badges.

Oh and they have the Abarth sepate Blue & Me Map by Magneti Marelli

Absolutely ! It would be amazing to see it! I would literally sell my grandmother to see it! she's 96! why am i telling you this?!

Yeah our one aint got badges either, but I know its got the whees, brakes from the SS kit and the map thing but not sure about the bhp hick. Got the exhaust too and our guys briefly looked under and reckon its got bypass valves similar to those on F430's and such so it should sound good. I drove the previous Ferrari edition 500 and was impressed with that but this is the nuts!

Will try and post some pics on here of it.

Yep thats the kiddy - saved me getting some pics of it.

I've heard it actually cost the dealers £34k but dont think they had a choice hence the high price. Ferrari (more or less) says 'you have to have one and thats what your gonna pay!'
Im also not sure if the dealers can sell them yet, as I think they have to run these cars for a period of time - expect about 6 months min before the start coming up for sale.

Oh man I want one of these but you would have to be either mad or loaded to buy one at that price!!!

It does look cool but what do you actually get for £30K, over the regular SS that is about half this price?

Also, for £30K should the seat backs not be colour coded to match the car? The seats probably look great in a white car but in the red Ferrari edition they don't quite look right to me as they don't match the red dashboard.

The only known differences are the Sabelt seats (available from Abarth dealers in due course for around £1800 a set), a revised exhaust system (also possibly going to be available through Abarth dealers), a different shade of red paint, a red leather insert on the steering wheel at the 12 o'clock position and a set of immitation 430 Scuderia stripes. These may be painted on like the 430 but any decent graphics company will knock a set up for under £100 I'd have thought.

I agree on the seatbacks. They look wrong in white especially when the dash fascia panel is red but the press blurb released thus far would indicate that they're only available with the white shells. Carbon fibre would have looked much better.
