sorry couldn't resist, not sure what it means isn't it in the manual ifnot call nearest fiat service department. Or someone else will know on here.
I don't know, I have not heard this one before but I would hazard a guess that it is related to the canbus system that connects the onboard computers.
Problems are usually displayed by the mileage reading "flashing" and the usual recommendation is to take it to the dealers for a proxy alignment to be carried out.
Luckily there are techs and possibly DETs that pop in on occasions who will know for sure and offer the right advice.

I think i'm correct in saying the can network is basically the part of the computor system that makes all the onboard electrical stuff work together in harmony.
re: flashy milage my local dealer told me it's nothing to do with blu n me as they have a 500 without it that is flashing. but fiat know about it and early indications are that it is POSSIBLY a power drop to a part of the computor caused when the car is started.. bigger batteries all round then

yes there are many ecus around the car for different functions and these are connected using a 'CAN' bus network [ame]http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Controller_Area_Network[/ame]
I had exactly the same thing yesterday. When I tried to start the engine, it turned without starting and CANCHECK came up on the radio display. It started fine second time. I also quite often get the flashing mileage.
