Dear dear forumusers

I'm going to sound proff my dear beloved Fiat 500 in a few weeks. I have bought loads of Dynamat Extreme and will also cover the car with some filt. I start in the rear section and will follow the great guide on this page.

But I'll also do something about the doors. Do any of you have experience in dismanteling the doors?

Best regards

The door trims are very easy to remove.

1. Pop the plastic cap off from behing the door pull & remove screw.

2. Give the door trim "a good tug" (the door trim is help on with little 'fir tree" fittings)

3. Unplug wiring for electric mirror adjuster & cable for central locking.

4. Marvel at how easy that was.

Sorry not done them yet! Will be doing so once it warms up a bit.

For what it's worth I was planning to line the door card itselt with felt using a spray-mount adhesive. If you break the moisture seal you'd need to be a bit careful about such an approach.

Year you'r right. I have to think about the moisture seal. Maybe it's posible to deattach it and add some Dynamat on the metal, and then add the moisture seal afterwards. Or maybe just add some felt on the top of the moisture seal.

Hi guys

I finally did some sound isolation of my fiat 500, and want to post some pictures, if that could help anybody.

I did the rear end with help from the fantastic guide on this page, and the doors. First I did apply a layer of Dynamat Extreme, then a 1cm layer of form, and someplaces also some felt. I forget to get a picture of the form and the felt in the rear end, but you can see the form on the pictures from the doors.

The result is very good. The sound of the doors reminds me of a Mercedes and the road noise is reduced and much more controlled.

Hi guys

Thanks for all your (y) icons.

Wreckmaster: I think it have helped alot. When I'm cruising at the highway at 130km/t, there is still a bit too much noise - but who can blame that when you ride a small car. Maybe I'll get going with the floor too, but I'm not sure about that yet, time will show.
