Technical changing h/light bulbs on 500

Hi,

Been reading every single post I can find on changing the lights on my 500 by Diesel but like Konza says all the links are dead!

I'm especially interested in changing the DRLs because the standard ones are a bit yellow for me.

I've looked at the PIAA website and the T20 XTreme White but it says that they aren't 'E' Marked and are for off road use only....

I don't really want to use illegal bulbs, don't want to take the risk, so are there any 'e' marked whiter alternatives???

Thanks!

Rich

I think PIAA removed the original ones from their site, or at least changed the location. They're very difficult to come across as they have to be wedge type bulbs to fit the DRLs!

Correct fitting, used by other 500 owners, not road legal.

I've got these in mine, one has just gone out but still works on lower power with the main headlights...Which is odd. Still, I need some more.

I had no idea they weren't road legal though, they're nowhere near as bright as the standard Fiat bulbs!

i've got similar lamps (piaa t 226 http://www.cargym.com/images/H-226.jpg ) ,the one gone out and it also works on lower power with the main headlights as Lloyd71,thats why i was searching for others..(piaa h 366 mirror ,like above)

@Lloyd71 Polarg M-13 are for sidelights,or like the piaa above??

I don't think there are any others available that will fit, just the ones you've already tried. Yours and mine are the first cases I've heard of them failing! I might order some slightly blue new bulbs for the dipped beams as I rarely drive in actual darkness and my current ones are very powerful but give average light. I don't need them to be bright, I just want a nice clear light out front!

which slightly blue do you mean?

Any H7 bulb that emits a better light than my current ones. Although I've just cleaned my headlights properly and they're already miles better.

what about the Polarg M-13??

I have no idea what they are and have no experience with them, sorry!

Polarg M13 are 7443 T20 380W bulb's, aka, DRL fitting.

The DRL is a twin filament (25w during the day, 5w with lights on), so if its only out with lights on only the 5w filament only has gone.

Its like a brake light, where 5w is on all the time as tail light, but 21w filament for braking - you have probably had a brake light go with just one filament right?

so which do u suggest to buy and why?
Piaa H-266
Piaa H-366 or
Polarg M13

this is a gift from greece :D it's a mini meeting with our 500,sorry for the bad quality of the photo :/

Can anyone help me? I've replaced the dipped beam bulbs successfully. Great! Found the little hatch in the wheel arch, opened it, but can't see for the life of me what I'm supposed to do to replace the main beams....
I've RTFM on my iPad and the DVD that I've got and it only tells me what bulbs I need, not how to actually remove/replace them.
I am scared to pull something and disconnect some vital wire!
If anyone has pics of what I should do that would be great, or a detailed description.
Thanks
Franda

The manual that your car came with will tell you exactly what to do :)

Actually it doesn't! Thanks for your help, think I mentioned that in my post.....
Have the crap DVD and iPad app!

Maybe Tony or Lloyd would be more helpful....?
