Hello to one and all, my first post about my 500. It's a1.2 POP and I'm stuck with a couple of things that the handbook is not very clear about.
First, the sidelights/daylights only come on with the headlights or stopped with the ignition OFF. I can't drive on just sidelights. The menu shows them but there is no ON/OFF facility. Is this how it is on the POP, or doI need to see the dealer?
Second, the doors "autolock" at 20 kmph, my wife does'nt want this:confused:
When I go to "autolock" on the menu, and press menu again, as per book, I get "travelling" and the + or - has no effect. Am I doing summat wrong?
P.S It's BN white with a red stripe, rear spoiler. 16" alloys, chrome bumpers, body-colour mirrors, grey/cream interior, cream leather gear-knob, and I love it, it makes me happy:D

Regards all.

Hi Roy B

This is only my second post but hope I can help.

I have successfully turned both the daytime running lamps and autolocking features by simply using the menu button and adjacent controls on the dashboard.

Took a couple of attempts to to get my head around the procedure but did deactivate and reactivate both items successfully.

Mine's a 1.2 Sport but I can't see it being any difference.

Have another go from the menu but if in doubt, I'm sure your dealer will show you (as long as they know how to do it!)

Cheers

500Matt

Thanks, Matt, will have another play with it Tomorrow.

First, the sidelights/daylights only come on with the headlights or stopped with the ignition OFF. I can't drive on just sidelights.

That's the same for all 500s, possibly the majority of all Fiats. If sidelights are on then as soon as you switch ignition on that turns into headlights on. The DRLs when on in the menu system don't operate the rear lights so you can't use them as sidelights either.

I asked similar questions when I got my 500 and got all my answers on here.

If you get a chance use the search facility and you will find answers to most of your questions.
