We got some snow up here this week and I have to say that I´m very impressed about how this little car handles on slippery surface!(y)
And according to weather forecasts there´s going to be a blizzard tomorrow...

Here are some pics:

We got snow today as well.
So i was playing around with mine 500 a bit to see how all those gadgets (ASR,ESP,ABS,...) are working. We used to own a Beetle, and I must say that ESP in 500 is sooooo much better ("sufisticated") then in a Beetle.
Exaple:
In a Beetle; mid-corner, second gear, full throtle:
- you can feel and hear how the engine in backing off and then starting to pull again, and you can hear "scratching" of ESP.
Same in 500:
- you never feel or hear anytning is electronically correcting the the cars direction. Just the revs are going up a bit slower. no cutting of the power,...a was quite shocked how much better it was!!!
Great stuff!

I have to agree, the ESP on 500 is pretty good indeed!!! It really lets you have some fun with the car before interfering! I could even do a little "scandinavian flick" with esp on... And in the end it saves my bottom before I can get into too much trouble.

It has been -2 to -4 degrees celcius these last couple of days and all in all this little Fiat has copied very well with winter conditions. No rattles or creaks what so ever and it is even quite a warm car too! I have to say I had my reservation about the 500 as "winter car", but so far it has proved me wrong. Well, I guess we´ll see how it copes with really cold weather, like -20 or so, when the winter progresses...

I`m sure it will be fine ,the anti-freeze they use these days will protect at those temperatures(y)

I want snow - closest you get in bournemouth is a few flakes in March time and everyone panics and the shops run out of tins! It just peed down with rain over the weekend and was really windy (took our son out on his bike down on the promenade at Sandbanks and he nearly got blown off!) Oh for the days of living in the midlands when I was a kid and we were snowed in and the lorries brought milk in churns for us. Oh the memories LOL.]

Jealous of all your snow :(

I remember dec 1983 we had snow about the 21st and it lasted into the new year ,about 8-9 inches ,it lasted due to winds coming from siberia it was great ,loads of snowmen everywhere you looked:)

Can't comment on the ESP but the Vag ASR is pretty good in my experience. Glad to hear the Fiat is properly sorted though (y)

If you ever get the chance, try an M3, they are astounding. Mid corner, full throttle.., nothing..., straighten up and it feeds in the power without so much as a slither. Makes you feel like a great driver..., until the entrance to the next corner :D

You'd have loved the snow they had there in 1963. It was pretty severe to say the least.

I was in Bournemouth at the weekend, and I think we walked along there too on Saturday. Is that where there's a Harry Ramsdens at the end?

It wasnt raining when we were there, but it was REALLY cold and windy. I was glad I took my thick jacket!
