In my 1.2 sport with just over 10K on the clock. Might be worth a check folks (I'm sure most people do)

Also noticed my coolant level is also just over Min mark when cold

this is the second time I've noticed it. It's already been in the garage for this and all they did was top it up and said nothing. I'll be phoning them in Monday for them to check it again.

you should check water/oil levels on a regular basis (fortnight should be enough) part of maintaining a car.

Mine had a coolant leak due to a faulty thermostat seal! Went into the dealer for a couple of days to be fixed. Been fine since!!

1/2 litre of oil for 10,000 miles on a front wheel drive car isn't a lot nowadays, some makes out there need that amount nearly every month - and the manufacturers reckon that's well within acceptable consumption. (I wish I could remember which make it was though - damn this getting old!)

Coolant perhaps is more problematical - this is only my opinion, but I wouldn't expect to top that up very often as modern systems are "sealed". However it may be a 500 thing, but members who own one will give you first-hand answers.

That oil usage is absolutley fine, just think of it as your 500 getting some fresh lube now and then
