I am going to get a second Key Fob, as its rubbish having to open a new car with a key - much prefer having the novelty of pressing a button and the light welcoming you in..

However, has anyone else done this ? How much was it ? And the manual says that i should have a code to order a new key ?

Any info on this, would be much appreciated!!

It does seem penny pinching to only give you one electronic key and one mechanical key (I won't mention not having a bootlight on the Sport or Pop) when AFAIK you usually get two RC keys with most cars.

However, that aside I only received a code for the Radio/CD so perhaps the dealer can programme your new key another way. I am interested if there is a code as I will have to contact my dealer to get one for possible future use.

It was my understanding that Fiat cars wont allow two remote keys to be married to the system.

If im wrong im sure someone will put me right !

Up to 4 i thought,, i have just bought a key of ebay were i will get it programmed in, may change the blade or may just put the mechanicel key i have on it.

cost £140 for a new key inc. coding from fiat for the GP S1

I think the key codes are kept by Fiat and have to be requested by your dealership.
I am sure you can have 2 remotes for your car instead of the one suppiled.

Yes, they are on some international registry and according to dealer cost £10 to get per car, unless they just charge this as admin.

Its penny pinching, I had two remotes with my 04 Panda. My dealer actually apologised for the one key

I got a 2nd with mine ............................
only because i had the thatcham alarm fitted

Thats the reason i need another button fob as if i break my currant one the alarm would be a pain to disable.

If you have the alarm though shouldn't you have two keys as rkt2003 has above?

I have a GP and just had the alarm upgrade done at 1 year old, the Clifford alarm.
