I noticed in a few photos that there appears to be a sensor mounted to the front windscreen just above the rear view mirror. Both our current cars a Clio 182 and a Chrysler 300C have both auto headlamps and rain sensing wipers, does the 500 have either of these features too? I can't really find any info in the brochure or on the website that says either way?

Thanks

Stef

Auto headlights would be nice.

But i can't stand rain sensing wipers - had them on my cmax and they never sensored (sp) any rain until the screen was almost impossible to see thru! maybe just ford rubbish but I'll never have them again.

I know what you mean, the Clio ones are terrible, but my 300C wipers are spot on!

Had them on a Nissan and they were awful, went really fast in drizzle and almost stopped when proper rain fell!

The sensor could be the one for the dash lights, when your lights are on in daytime the dash dims and brightens depending on light.

I never had them. What's the point, you only have to turn the stalk to make them work anyhow. And your eyes are damn sure much quicker in assessing if you need a fast or slow wiping. Talk about car manufacturers making pointless gadgets... Headlamps wipers anyone?

Not sure about the 500, but in my parents S80, there is a black dome like object mounted high on the dash, right near the windscreen, and its for the climate control, I think that it takes th outside temp and other things. It could be similar on the 500

They might sound like a silly idea but they are actually a legal requirement on cars with Xenon lights fitted as standard! not sure if they're needed on cars ith normal Halogens though!
