Afternoon

Just wondering how much fuel you are finding is left once the display starts reading 'Warning, low fuel'?

This morning I left home with 90 miles on the range display. Fuel light came on after a few miles. After about 25 miles it started to show the warning on the info display periodically.

30 miles covered and 30 miles to get home..., will it make it!?!

Cheers

I hate the fuel guage on the 500, like you say one minute youve got say 90 miles then it says low fuel, then all of a sudden youve non! Prefer a proper needle guage myself.
I wonder how much fuel is left when it says empty... Ive done about 15 miles on empty.

Fuel light always come on when the range menu shows 100 km. When it says Low level warning then the range shows 50 km... Once I've done 45 km when the low level warning came on then I fueled up my car with 35,86 liters.

My petrol light tends to illuminate when it shows around 61 miles range. It then decreases till about 32 miles and then shortly after it just shows a series of short lines and the message warning saying low fuel.

I must admit, when it's done that, I have always refuelled asap, as I've not wanted to tempt fate. I don;t think I've ever driven more than 10 -12 miles further when I get the Low Fuel warning message. (I'm waiting for someone else on here to tempt fate first!;)

can someone go fill up as soon as the light comes on for each of the engines - brim it with a second shot of fuel after the first cut off (but not on full) so we know how much in litres you can get in. That way we will know how much you can fill it with at that point which will give an indication of how much is left.

On mine "range" stopped showing at about 60 km, after 30 km or so i went to fill it up. I put in 33,5L.

My 'mileage remaining' blanked out at 30 miles, which it's supposed to do, and I drove another 15 miles before filling up so I'd guess no more than 1.5 litres left in the tank. Filled up with 37 litres

In case anyone is interested, I gave in to it and filled up with expensive diesel (wrong end of the journey!) - Range was "---", fuel light had been on about 35 miles, "Warning: Low Fuel" had beeped at least four times and I got exactly 30 litres in the tank. So 5 litres left of there abouts.

As I can see where this thread will eventually end up.... :p

the process is put into the tank the 5 litres you've just brought back to the car in the fuel can you had to buy at the petrol station at about 5x the cost of the one you already own but have left at home.

Priming - turn the ignition on, leave it there 5 seconds. Turn it back off. Repeat 5 times.

Try to start. If it doesn't go back to priming.

Just out of interest, when I passed my driving test my dad told me to carry 5L of fuel in a can in the boot. I haven't done so for years now, does anyone still carry fuel? Hubbie says he never has done and looked at me as if slightly odd (he does this quite often now!)xxxxx

Tank capacity is 35L. How can someone put 37L in it???
Are petrol stations lying to us?!?
